Chelsea Green is one of the most underrated female superstars in WWE. Fans have been advocating for a push for the 33-year-old for a long time, and it appears that now may finally be her chance. Green advanced to the finals of the Women’s United States Championship after her match on the latest episode of SmackDown. After the show went off the air, she penned down her thoughts with a post on X and seemed elated to be in the finals.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Green faced Bayley in the semi-finals of the Women’s United States Championship tournament. Piper Niven interfered during their match, pulling her partner out of a precarious situation. Green fought back and eventually caught the former Women’s Champion with a roll-up and advanced to the finals of the match.
On the other side of the bracket, Michin defeated Tiffany Stratton to advance to the finals. The former TNA Knockouts Champion won by pinfall with a Sole Food and will face Green in the finals. WWE had already announced that the finals of this tournament will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Umm ya duh. Been telling you that the whole time!!!! https://t.co/6EpAMCbSIj

Green and Michin will reignite their feud on Saturday. The two superstars had various back-and-forth matches earlier this year. The rivalry eventually ended with the Hot Mess being thrown into a dumpster.
Green will surely be looking for revenge as she aims to become the inaugural champion this weekend. Although she was unimpressed with the Women’s United States Championship design, she has strived to win the title, and some consider her a favorite heading into the match.
Rumors of Chelsea Green having a mixed-tag match with Matt Cardona in GCW get squashed
After a recent comment by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there were several rumors that Chelsea Green was going to team up with her husband, Matt Cardona, for a match in GCW. The couple was supposedly set to face the team of Joey Janela and Megan Bayne at GCW’s Hammerstein Ballroom show on January 19.
Meltzer also claimed that WWE shut the idea down completely. Recently, Janela himself shed some light on these rumors. He claimed that he was never even pitched for a match that involved Chelsea Green in any capacity. The Bad Boy also stated that his input in the GCW creative process was always exaggerated.
Fake news, I was never slated for a match involving Chelsea.

The original match had me on suicide watch though, as soon as that thankfully fell through Tanaka was booked within 24 hours per my request. Can’t say I know anything else about Chelsea and I know 0% about GCW… https://t.co/RLnHt6Qvuw
Green has wrestled for GCW in the past and even had a run alongside Cardona. However, she returned to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble, while her husband stayed on the indies. Since then, she has done wonderfully for herself and is a huge asset to the women’s midcard division.
