Chelsea Green is one of the most outspoken women in wrestling and never hesitates to share her views. Recently, the Women’s United States Champion stood her ground against former WWE star Val Venis in a debate about supporting transgender rights. The two had a back-and-forth on social media, expressing completely opposite views on the topic.
On March 31, 2025, International Transgender Day of Visibility celebrated transgender people and their contributions to society. Stars like Mia Yim and Chelsea Green showed their support with social media posts. When Michin shared a graphic featuring the transgender pride flag on X, The Lunatic Lush responded with, “Hate you. Love this.”
Green’s comment caught Val Venis’ attention, and he responded, criticizing wrestlers for engaging in politics. He claimed the transgender movement was harmful to society and said the Women’s U.S. Champion needed prayers. Venis also made offensive remarks, suggesting transgender people were confused about their identity and should turn to Jesus Christ.
Val, I’ve been holding back from responding with the same level of hostility you’ve shown, but since you keep tagging me, I’ll say this and I won’t be responding again: I’m Canadian—I can’t even vote. So when I speak about human rights, I’m not talking about politics; I’m talking about equality. Although I am sure you would love to take this time to further push your political agenda. I will continue to push for the LGBTQ+ community with my cis privilege. It is the least I can do. End of discussion.

At first, The Hot Mess ignored Venis’s comments but later fired back on X. Green clarified that she wasn’t discussing politics but advocating for equality and human rights. She accused him of pushing a political agenda and reaffirmed her support for the transgender community. Not only that, but the Women’s U.S. Champ also said Venis had a lot of hate in his heart and that she was praying for him.
Chelsea Green claims WWE passed on hiring her due to diversity quota
Green’s journey of becoming the record-breaking U.S. title reign had its challenges. She built her reputation by winning multiple championships in various promotions. Despite an earlier tryout, WWE didn’t sign her until 2018. She continues to stress the importance of diversity in talent recruitment.

While speaking to Click & Tell, the 33-year-old star said WWE wanted more diversity on the roster. Green admitted she had to rely on her in-ring skills and character work to stand out. She accepted not getting hired, understanding its significance to the fans. Green highlighted Bianca Belair and former WWE star Xia Li as examples, noting how Li inspired many children in China by representing her culture in the ring.
I’ve had a lot of WWE tryouts where they’ve said, no, we’re not hiring that demographic and I totally respect that. We love Bianca because she brings something new to the table. … We had a Chinese Superstar, Xia Li. She’s no longer at WWE with us. How amazing is that for all the little girls and boys in China to see her out there bringing her Chinese culture and heritage to the ring? That’s special.

After returning to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble, Green consistently entertained fans with her character work. She finally got her long-overdue moment by defeating Mia Yim at Saturday Night Main Event to become the inaugural United States Champion. Now, she thrives as a top champion and is loved for her antics.
The Secret Hervice celebrated after WWE SmackDown
Chelsea Green and The Secret Service are brimming with confidence heading into WrestleMania 41. Her team, now joined by Alba Fyre, known as Agent A, helped her retain her title against Michin on the March 7 episode of SmackDown. The Scottish duo of Piper Niven and Fyre recently debuted as a tag team against Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.

After defeating KC2 in under six minutes at the iconic O2 Arena, Green took to X to celebrate her Secret Service’s first win. The Hot Mess called them America’s greatest tag team and teased a special performance.
In celebration of my Secret Hervice winning their first match as Americas Greatest Tag Team, I will be putting on a performance.

When asked if attacking Carter and Chance after the match was necessary, Green emphasized that winning was her priority. Before her trio could do more damage, Zelina Vega intervened and fought them off. Fans might soon see The Lunatic Lush defend her title against the former Queen of the Ring.
