Fans react to Chelsea Green becoming inaugural women's United States Championship (via WWE)
Saturday Night’s Main Event featured the finals of the Women’s United States Championship tournament. On the latest episode of SmackDown, Michin and Chelsea Green had both won the matches on their side of the tournament bracket. Fans were hyped to see this match and witness the crowning of the first-ever women’s midcard champion.
Green came out to the ring wearing an outfit featuring photos of herself all over. Piper Niven was also present at ringside to support her tag team partner. She made use of every opportunity to attack Michin when the referee was distracted. Regardless, Mia Yim handled the disadvantage pretty well, and they had an intense back-and-forth match.
Towards the end of the match, Green found herself on top of the turnbuckle. She did a front flip and caught Michin with an Unpretty-her on the way down. This allowed her to pick up the pinfall victory and be crowned the inaugural Women’s United States Champion. General Manager Nick Aldis presented her with the belt, and Niven raised her on her shoulder.

This was truly an ideal finish for the Women’s United States Championship. Green and Michin had a highly compelling feud earlier this year. The two superstars had various back-and-forth matches earlier this year. The rivalry eventually ended with the Hot Mess being thrown into a dumpster. This feud showcased the strength of the women’s midcard division. Thus, it was fitting for these superstars to get the spotlight here.

The WWE Universe was elated to see Chelsea Green be crowned the inaugural Women’s United States Champion. The SmackDown superstar had put in a lot of work to entertain her fans over the past few years, not just in WWE but across various promotions. Unfortunately, she was never substantially rewarded for this effort. Thus, nobody deserved this huge moment more than her.
Netizens were huge fans of Green and her comedic sense. She had even joked that she was unimpressed by the design of the Women’s United States Championship. Regardless, she was gunning for the title, and fans were happy to see her achieve her goal.

The future of the women’s midcard division with Green at the helm sounds like a highly interesting prospect. There are several incredibly talented women on the roster that the 33-year-old could have incredible feuds with. Some fans even suggested Piper Niven could eventually turn on her.
The Lunatic Lush is already cheered by the fans and could make a good babyface. Some even thought that the Scottish wrestler would drop her off her shoulder during the celebration.
