Three years ago in 2021, current SmackDown wrestler Chelsea Green tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Matt Cardona on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas. But yesterday, the Vegas Tropicana Hotel, where the wedding ceremony was held, was reduced to ruins so as to make way for MLB team Oakland Athletics‘ baseball field.
Green reacted by posting a photo on X from her wedding, adding a heartbroken emoji to it.
Raw announcer Samantha Irvin stopped by in the comments, sympathizing with Chelsea, saying she didn’t know the former women’s tag team champion was married there. Clapping back at her, Mrs. Cardona couldn’t do much but lament the demolition of the venue that must’ve been so special to her and her husband.
Even though there’s no point in crying over the spilled milk, this one might feel like a personal loss to Matt and Chelsea—the Cardonas. Back then, she wasn’t even in WWE. Despite a forgettable first run with the company that was marred by injuries, she didn’t give up.

Having worked her way through the indies and later in TNA, the 33-year-old returned to WWE last year as a surprise entrant in the women’s Royal Rumble match. However, it didn’t pan out well. The Hot Mess was tossed over the top rope in mere seconds, leaving a look of utter disbelief on her face. But since then, she hasn’t looked back.
Having embraced her gimmick of a Karen, it has been a hit. Green’s character and on-screen tantrums started resonating with that of the WWE Universe in no time. Apart from that, the Canuck developed an infamous relationship with general managers, viz., Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis. To this day, she bemoans unfair treatment from the two authority figures.
Chelsea Green hasn’t been able to shrug off a stinky weekend
The previous weekend was something Chelsea Green would never want to recap. It all started on SmackDown, where she lost a Dumpster Match to Michin, who dumped Green into the giant trash container. When the latter came out of it, her entire body was doused with loads of fetid waste.
As a result, the entire WWE roster decided to collectively shun her. That negligence subdued Chelsea, and she eventually lodged a complaint against them, notifying WWE CCO Triple H about the matter. Despite taking an extended spell of shower, she wasn’t relieved of the stinkiness.
In fact, that brought shame to her during a backstage segment at Bad Blood. Chelsea was asked to leave the watch-along party by Naomi, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair. In fact, The EST advised her to take another shower to get rid of the smell.
