Despite having more than 45 first-team players going into the 2024/25 season, it appears that Chelsea are still not done in the transfer market. The Blues have recently been linked with Samu Omorodion, Pedro Neto and many other players in recent weeks.
While several players are set to leave on loan in the coming days, fans are still baffled by the sheer number of players signed by the club. It hasn’t even been a week since rumors broke surrounding Chelsea ‘almost’ signing Spanish striker Omorodion.
The 20-year-old currently plays for La Liga side Atletico Madrid, scoring nine goals and making an assist while on loan with Deportivo Alaves. Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have been doing ‘good’ business this transfer window, with the Spaniards already getting hold of Conor Gallagher.
Despite Omorodion to Chelsea being nearly finalized, a shocking revelation meant that the forward will not be coming to Stamford Bridge. It is rumored that Chelsea attempted to purchase 50% of the player’s rights, which he saw as disrespectful. Surprisingly, Chelsea are now working toward the return of former FC Barcelona man Joao Felix.
Chelsea jump to Joao Felix as Samu Omorodion deal ‘100% off’
Many considered Samu Omorodion a Chelsea player after recent negotiations surrounding a move to Stamford Bridge. The club had already ‘agreed’ a €40 million fee for his services, and a seven year contract for him. However, after recent developments, it is clear that Omorodion will not be flying to England.
As of now, Chelsea have shifted their attention to Joao Felix, who has returned to Atletico Madrid after a season-long loan with Barcelona. The player scored ten goals and made 8 assists for the Blaugrana under Xavi Hernandez. Felix has been in good form ever since his return to Atletico, scoring two goals in three games for Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano reported that the player has already said ‘yes’ to a return to Chelsea, with the move now up to the club. Even though the terms of the deal are yet to be finalized, his move is crucial to necessitate Conor Gallagher‘s departure to Atletico. Besides Felix, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Romelu Lukaku and Victor Osimhen.
