Chelsea vs Newcastle United: Chelsea hosted Newcastle United on Matchday 29 of the Premier League at the Stamford Bridge.
First half was pretty dull to watch as neither of the teams came close enough to scoring. Second half lacked attacking intent as well. But Chelsea broke the deadlock in the 89th minute when Kai Havertz scored a beautiful goal to give seal all 3 points for the home team.

Edouard Mendy (7.2/10): Mendy made 2 saves in the match including a dangerous volley from Almiron in the first half.
Trevoh Chalobah (7.6/10): Chalobah quickly adjusted to right back from his original center back position very handsomely. He finished the match with 4 tackles- most in the match.
Andreas Christensen (7.3/10): Despite rumours surrounding about him leading, Christensen put up a solid performance in defense.
Antonio Rudiger (7/10): Robust Rudiger displayed dominance in the back with his compact positioning and physical presence.
Malang Sarr (6.8/10): Alike Chalobah, Sarr too played in left full back rather than his preferred center half position and was reasonable. He was taken off in the second half to change the formation.
N’Golo Kante (7.1/10): Kante was usually good in the midfield. He recovered balls and pushed forward with the intent completing a few successful dribbles.
Jorginho (7.6/10): The skipper distributed the ball well and made sure Chelsea had most of the possession. He provided a beautiful long ball to Havertz, which was scored by the German.
Mason Mount (6/10): Mount played slightly deeper, off his regular position, and thus could not be much effective.
Hakim Ziyech (7.3/10): The Moroccan international drew fouls as he maneuvered the defense with quick feet. He created a couple of good chances too, which were not converted, unfortunately.
Timo Werner (6.2/10): Werner had an average game as he made just one effort towards the goal. He was replaced by Lukaku in the second half.
Kai Havertz (7.8/10): Havertz was booked in the first half for dangerous play. He failed to score from a free header later in the game but made it up by scoring a delightful goal late in the game.
Substitutes:
Mateo Kovacic (6.5/10): Kovacic got booked for a late challenge from behind. He did not make much of a difference.
Romelu Lukaku (6/10): Lukaku could not impact the game in any way.

Martin Dubravka (5.7/10): Dubravka did not have many saves to make. However, he let in a last-minute goal costing his team the match.
Javier Manquillo (6.3/10): Manquillo had an average game as he could not influence from the flank.
Fabian Schar (7/10): The big defender had a decent match but could not end the match with a clean sheet.
Jamaal Lascelles (6.1/10): Lascelles did not have a great match and had the least touches, despite being a center back.
Daniel Burn (6.6/10): Burn had a reasonable game but was not impactful making challenges.
Matt Targett (7/10): Targett went forward and tried to create chances, but the lack of players in the box for Newcastle negated his attempts.
Jacob Murphy (6.3/10): Murphy was booked in the game for a clumsy challenge early in the second half. He was replaced in the dying minutes to introduce fresh legs.
Sean Longstaff (6/10): Longstaff could not impose himself into the game and was not an impactful player.
Bruno Guimaraes (7/10): Newcastle’s winter signing is adjusting fast to the physical aspect of the league as he won many duels and 50/50 challenges.
Miguel Almiron (7/10): Almiron hit a thumping volley from outside the box that was well stopped from Mendy. He was replaced by Saint-Maximin in the second half.
Chris Wood (6/10): Wood was the lone striker in Newcastle’s formation and had a hard time navigating through Chelsea’s strong defense. He attempted zero shots as a striker.
Substitites:
Allan Saint-Maximin (6.8/10): Saint-Maximin lit alight the stadium with his fast feet and dribbling as soon as he was introduced. But Chelsea’s defense was too good for his efforts.
