Chelsea are finally up and alive in the Premier League. Enzo Maresca and co. were out with a point to prove as they made the visit to Molineux Stadium on Sunday night. The Blues wasted no time to get things started as Nicolas Jackson scored the club’s earliest Premier League goal since 2017! Unmarked at the far post, Jackson did well to head home from a deflected corner.

Wolves responded in the 26th minute through Matheus Cunha before Cole Palmer finished off an unbelievable chance from the edge of the penalty area. Even though the hosts responded almost instantly before the strike of half-time, the second half was a different story altogether. In the space of 18 minutes, Noni Madueke bagged an emphatic hat-trick, much to the delight of fans amidst rumors of the club looking to dispose of him.

What makes his performance even more special is the fact that he accidentally called the city of Wolverhampton ‘s***’ on his Instagram story. Palmer set up all three of Madueke’s goals, following which the latter said that he is fire and Palmer is ice, because of which they go together well.

The final dagger in the heart for Wolves came from Joao Felix, who grabbed a goal to top off his ‘second’ debut with the Blues.

Wolves boss Gary O’Neil apologizes to fans after Chelsea squad worth ‘billions’ destroys them at home

Losing 6-2 in front of one’s fans is an experience no football club would like to endure. Wolves were at the mercy of Enzo Maresca‘s men, who seemed to run away with the match after a closely contested initial 45 minutes. Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer combined to break Wolves’ hearts as manager Gary O’Neil apologized to the fans for the humbling result.

They (the fans) were sat there watching their side have a right good go against a side that spent billions. Tough watch for the fans and I apologize for my part because I don't want them to suffer like that.

As for the winners, manager Enzo Maresca hailed Cole Palmer as ‘special’, although he was far from being surprised at his goal and three assists.

Following the win, Chelsea are now eighth in the League table while Wolves are 19th. The men in yellow have lost both of their games in the Premier League and will look to turn things around against Nottingham Forest. As for Chelsea, a home game against Crystal Palace next weekend is the perfect opportunity to get some points on the board.
