On the podcast, Chet Holmgren playfully questioned Paul George about the leadership structure within the Sixers team. He was curious to find out who held the most influential position between George and Joel Embiid. Holmgren hilariously attempted to ruin the team’s chemistry. As the podcast was ending, Holmgren had the opportunity to ask George questions. Cheekily, Holmgren asked him who would hit the game-winning shot. With this question, Holmgren was certainly trying to break up the chemistry of the Sixers’ top stars in a playful manner.

Let me try and f**k up y'all chemistry. Y'all need a bucket. End of the game. Who's shooting the game-winning shot? You or Jo (Joel Embiid).

Even George came up with a witty answer by stating that it would directed by the team coach, Nick Nurse. He expressed his confidence in Nurse by mentioning that he would design a play with anyone who could take the best shot in that situation. It was obvious that George had sidestepped the question asked by Holmgren to avoid any disruptions in team chemistry.

Holmgren then later asked if George would be upset if he didn’t get the last shot. George responded passively by stating that he is accustomed to other star players on the team getting the final shot.

Throughout his career, George has been a part of star-studded teams but has yet to taste gold. He certainly aims to end his championship drought with the Sixers. George is undeniably one of the best two-way players in the league and will be a great asset to the Sixers.

Paul George and Joel Embiid will have to co-exist to win the championship

During this offseason, Paul George, a former star with the Clippers, emerged as one of the hottest free agents in the league. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors were interested in acquiring George due to his excellence on the court. However, it was the Philadelphia Sixers who successfully secured George and signed him to a lucrative four-year, $212 million deal.

George is certainly a great signing for the Sixers and could complement the playing styles of both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. However, the Sixers have a history of signing great talent but failing to make it work in the playoffs. This pattern has been observed in the cases of both Jimmy Butler and James Harden. Both George and Embiid will have to co-exist for championship hopes.
