Chiefs get positive update about Rashee Rice’s potential NFL suspension
On Monday, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt was asked about whether receiver Rashee Rice will receive any suspensions from the NFL committee, in reply he revealed not hearing anything about it.

Rashee Rice will play his second year in the NFL. However, there’s still no guarantee whether the league committee will permit him to start for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The wide receiver who lit up the league in his rookie season found himself in deep trouble after winning his first Super Bowl. He, along with three other individuals, totaled as many as six cars on a Dallas highway and then left the scene without checking to see the damages.
After the police issued a lookout notice, Rice turned himself in and was later released, but the case remains pending in court. His bad streak wasn’t complete as a photographer lodged a complaint against the SMU graduate for allegedly hitting him at a club. He later dropped the charges.
The 24-year-old attended most of the Chiefs’ OTA but also continued to practice on his own. He rejoined the team on the opening day of the training camp on Sunday, July 21.
Even though the Chiefs cleared Rice to practice with the team, his regular season availability remains a massive doubt. On the second day of camp, Chiefs beat writer Matt Derrick updated on a possible suspension for the wideout.

According to Derrick, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and the league have yet to decide what they want to do with Rashee Rice.
Andy Reid spoke about Rashee Rice’s suspension
Besides Hunt, head coach Andy Reid faced the same question from various media outlets. Reid reiterated the same words.
I haven’t heard anything up to this point.Andy Reid said, per the Kansas City Star’s Sam McDowell

In ESPN analyst Jeremy Fowler’s view, situations like Rice’s take time to conclude, and it’s completely up to the league to decide.
This is a lengthy legal process, which means he could start the season, play games, or even finish the year because the league likes to see the full scope of things before deciding on the suspension.Jeremy Fowler revealed on SportsCenter

He further disclosed speaking with people who had better knowledge of the situation. According to them, Rashee Rice could receive a hefty suspension, cutting down his playing time.
Most people I’ve talked to around the league believe that he will get a multi-game suspension at some point, given all that’s gone down.Fowler added
NFL’s Ian Rapoport spoke along similar lines during the NFL draft.
I believe, six charges [car crash]. If his [Rashee Rice] case wraps up, then there is a potential the NFL could issue discipline and he would likely be suspended. If the case is still ongoing, as we’ve seen with several others, then it's likely he’d be eligible to play this season.Ian Rapoport said back then

Rice’s case is quite similar to Saints Alvin Kamara‘s. The league banned Kamara for three games in 2023 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
