Harrison Butker seems to have gone viral recently over his commencement speech at a Catholic college, which included certain controversial statements regarding women, and LGBTQ+ Pride. While the Super Bowl champion kicker received quite some backlash from fans, Gracie Hunt jumped in his defense, when given the opportunity.

During her appearance at “Fox & Friends” on Friday, host Steve Doocy asked her about the reaction of the Chiefs, especially her family to Butker’s controversial speech at Benedictine College, last weekend. As the kicker told the female graduates to choose being a homemaker, rather than a working woman.

I can only speak from my own experience, which is I had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up. And I understand that there are many women out there who can’t make that decision but for me in my life, I know it was really formative in shaping me and my siblings to be who we are.

Listening to her reply, host Doocy confirmed whether she understood what the three-time Super Bowl champion was talking about, amidst the intense backlash.

For sure, and I really respect Harrison and his Christian faith and what he’s accomplished on and off the field.

Chiefs’ owner Clark Hunt’s daughter isn’t the only one defending the Chiefs kicker, Chris Jones, Kelly Stafford, and Lou Holtz as well, expressed their support by defending him.

Harrison Butker referred to Taylor Swift as ‘Teammate’s Girlfriend’

As Butker addressed the female graduates at the ceremony, he quoted Taylor Swift’s song “Bejeweled,” lyrics. However, the surprising part was despite the extension popularity and success of the pop icon, whose net worth is $1.1 billion, the Chiefs kicker mentioned her as his “teammate’s girlfriend.”

However, Chiefs star Mitch Schwartz’s wife, Brooke Schwartz didn’t like Butker’s behavior and slammed him on social media for using Swift’s lyrics in his “propaganda speech.” She also called him out for not addressing the 14-time Grammy winner by her name wondering whether he is unaware of her public views.
