Patrick Mahomes’ goal in the NFL exceeds way beyond individual success or the number of rings one can wear. The elite quarterback has the ultimate goal of engraving the Kansas City Chiefs name in the pages of history as the first-ever team to achieve a three-peat.

Since they have already won their second consecutive Vince Lombardi trophy last season, they plan for total dominance in the 2024 season, starting with the season opener tonight. Regardless of him being considered a GOAT in the league, Mahomes has never let the fame get in his head and that’s why, the Chiefs’ consistency has rarely been questioned.

Having said that, the Chiefs superstar admitted having the ‘hungry’ feeling for scripting history by winning three consecutive Super Bowl trophies, in a conversation with Sky Sports during the final practice session before the Thursday Night Football Match against the Baltimore Ravens.

The hunger is high, I mean no one has ever been able to win three Super Bowls in a row. It’s obviously something you can strive to do. You know how hard it’s gonna be. But all you can do is come to work every single day and we’re a long way away.

The three-time Super Bowl champion stated that the team’s focus is the season-opening matchup against their conference rivals and how they can perform better than the preseason. While acknowledging that achieving a three-peat isn’t going to be easy, Mahomes claimed they are ready to thrive in this season and not lose their consistency.

Can the Ravens break their slump against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs?

While the Chiefs are entering the Thursday Night match with an optimistic front, the Ravens have a big task to prove that the two-time defending Super Bowl champions are not a roadblock to their success. Just last season, Baltimore faced defeat in the hands of Kansas City despite dominating the entire AFC and finishing with a record of 13-4.

Though a victory in the season-opener wouldn’t clinch a Super Bowl berth for the Ravens, it would prove that they are capable enough to beat Mahomes’ Chiefs. Given, that the Ravens’ record against the AFC rivals Chiefs is 1-4.

Previously when the NFL 2024 schedule came and the Ravens were scheduled to face off against the Chiefs, it was widely considered a revenge chance for the former. But when quarterback Lamar Jackson was asked about that perspective, he dismissed the narrative saying their goal is to win, regardless of whom they faced as the opponents.
