The Kansas City Chiefs continued their winning momentum in Week 7 as they put down the San Francisco 49ers at Levis Stadium. The reigning champions remain the only unbeaten team in the league after the Minnesota Vikings fell to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.

The Chiefs are 6-0 while their quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 6-to-8 in touchdowns to interceptions ratio. It’s a bit bamboozling as the Chiefs keep on winning despite some poor numbers from the main man.

Mahomes hasn’t thrown a single touchdown in the last two games but keeps on winning with one of the best defenses in the NFL. Many understandably predict the Chiefs to reach the Super Bowl in 2025.

Adding onto this, Andy Reid’s Chiefs are being likened to the New England Patriots under the Brady-Belichick era. The Brady-Belichick era saw 6 Super Bowls, 19 consecutive winning seasons, 17 division titles, and an undefeated regular season in 2007.

In the last 11 years, the Chiefs have enjoyed all winning seasons and missed out on playoffs only once (in 2014). The Chiefs have been conquering the AFC West for the past eight years, the second-longest streak in the history of the league.

Mahomes and Co. are slowly inching towards breaking the New England Patriots record as well as creating new ones. In the past five years, they have won three Super Bowls. Furthermore, the Chiefs are on the cusp of becoming the first team to register a three-peat.

Fans think the Kansas City Chiefs are building the NFL’s next dynasty

Kansas City Chiefs could be reminding the old fans of the game of dynasties before. Andy Reid’s coached team is currently holding the active streak for playoffs in the league with nine seasons. The longest playoff streak belongs to the prime New England Patriots, who went 11 consecutive seasons with post-season appearances.

Andy Reid, brought from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, has delivered 11 winning seasons without a single stain on their mark. He roped in Steve Spagnuolo in 2019 and won three titles together. The ultimate numbers draw parallels to the 2002-2019 dominance by the Patriots.

Albeit, Mahomes throwing eight interceptions in a 6-0 start is something that doesn’t quite fit right in with the theory. Fans are mixed on that, arguing legend Tom Brady would never throw more interceptions than touchdowns in his prime time.

Meanwhile, some fans are more of the opinion that Mahomes has already seen and said bye to his best days.

The Chiefs will play the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the following week. They will look forward to keeping the streak alive and take a shot at a perfect season.
