Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy has a score to settle with Bills for passing on him in the draft: “Chip on my shoulder”
AFC Championship game is a redemption game for Chiefs rookie receiver Xavier Worthy, who was close to joining the Buffalo Bills.

Xavier Worthy is set to make his first appearance in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, January 26, against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium. However, if the draft results were different, then Worthy would be receiving catches from Josh Allen instead of Patrick Mahomes.
With the absence of a veteran receiver in the ranks, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy involved Worthy in the game as much as he could. Whether as a slot receiver or using him for the jet sweeps, Worthy’s impact on the Chiefs’ offense was clear to see. His quick feet and low center of gravity fetched six touchdowns in the regular season.
Worthy will now go up against the Bills, a team that he feels abandoned him for another player.
Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy is taking the draft day trade with Buffalo personally 👀 : "I take it as a blessing. I feel it's a sign they didn't want me. I'm going to play with a chip on my shoulder. It's the AFC Championship Game."

The Bills held the 28th pick in the draft with Worthy on the board, and they needed a receiver after Stefon Diggs left for Houston. However, the Chiefs front office called the Bills for a trade, and they drafted Worthy at 28.
Former assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi (now with the Tennessee Titans) revealed in April 20254 that they wanted to draft the Texans graduate even higher.
Who did the Bills draft instead of Xavier Worthy?
After passing on Worthy, the next man on the Bills’ list was Keon Coleman. The Bills took Coleman as the 33rd overall pick in the draft and became an instant hit with the Billsmafia with his witty comments and cheerful personality.
The Florida State graduate repaid the Bills’ faith in him with 29 receptions from 57 targets for 556 yards and four touchdowns despite carrying a wrist injury. His best performance came against the Titans, posting 4 catches for 125 yards.

Keon Coleman:
• injury

They’re acting like Coleman only played 5 games. The dude started in 13/17 games.
Compared to Coleman, Worthy caught 59 catches for 638 yards and nine total touchdowns (receiving and rushing). In the regular season fixture against the Bills, he caught 4 passes for 61 yards and scored one touchdown, but the Chiefs were handed their first defeat of the campaign.
