Trevor Bauer is once again back in the spotlight for his comment on social media, drawing the attention of the MLB world. A couple of days back insider Dan Brown commented how Bauer still remains “one of the favorite pitchers in the world” despite his unofficial ban from MLB since 2021.
This led Bauer to state some facts including claims of him being the 2nd best after Shohei Ohtani in terms of popularity. Bauer further claimed that he’d demolish any other players, labeling only 20 players to be at the top before him.
His comments led to several controversies and fans calling out the player, however, HOFer Chipper Jones absolutely rolled him for the claims. Jones penned on X (formerly known as Twitter),

Despite not appearing in any MLB games since 2021, Trevor Bauer believes he still remains one of the top 10 players in baseball. He said apart from 20 top players on the list, he’d “steamroll the rest of them.”
Second, behind Shohei…I’m the second most popular player and the most knowledgeable pitcher on the planet. I’m also a top 10 pitcher on the planet and willing to play for $0…There are like 20 hitters on the planet that are true competition for me. Id steamroll the rest of them.

He even said that the MLB is afraid of taking the risk of signing him, despite his claims to play for $0. He was suspended from MLB for violating the league’s domestic violence policy for 324 games.
Trevor Bauer agrees on deal with Yokohama DeNa BayStars of NPB
Trevor Bauer’s career has taken a slide off since his MLB ban after accusations of sexual assault of several women in 2021. While the legal disputes were solved no MLB teams were willing to give a chance for Bauer to step into the major league.

Bauer even said that he’d sign with the least contract possible and even play for free if given a chance. Unfortunately, no teams have reached out yet. He is part of the minor leagues and has played for Japan and Mexico in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
Recently, he signed a new contract with the Yokohama DeNa BayStars of the NPB in Japan. He last played with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2021. Apart from LA, he has also played with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians, and the Cincinnati Reds.
Ignore the vocal minority that follows an inaccurate narrative spun by the Manfred-fearing mainstream media, Trevor Bauer is one of the most popular pitchers in the world today – if not, the most popular. He is loved in Japan, Mexico, and still has a huge following in America.

While no details of his sign with Yokohama have been revealed, it’ll be his second stint with the team. It’s been 4 years since he last pitched in the major leagues, and the chances of him returning at this point are extremely slim.
