“Did bro watch the same game?” – ‘Furious’ Chris Canty blaming Joe Burrow for Bengals’ MNF loss to Commanders doesn’t sit well with fans on social media
Joe Burrow was phenomenal in the Bengals 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders.

The Monday night matchup between the Washington Commanders and the Cincinnati Bengals gave the latter team a harsh reality check. The Bengals went into the game as favorites to win, but due to the average performance by their defense, they were unable to prevent the Commanders from outscoring them. The offense fared well, and Joe Burrow put on a show as he threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns with no turnovers.
There is nothing more that Burrow could have done. But Chris Canty thinks otherwise. The analyst shared a contradictory opinion on Unsportsmanlike Radio as he put the blame for the Bengals loss on Joe Burrow.
Canty has this view because Cincinnati has invested significantly more into its offense than defense. He pointed out that the Bengals are one of the top spenders upon offense in the NFL while rank in the bottom 10 when it comes to spending on their defense.
All that was expected of the Bengals defense was to perform competitively. But on Monday night, they just sucked.
Cincinnati Bengals defense had its worse performance in team history on Monday night
The Bengals defense allowed five touchdowns, a field goal on six possessions, and failed to make a single stop. While Canty’s argument that the offense is more vital to winning games than the defense is valid to an extent, it does not exonerate the latter completely as being responsible for Monday night’s loss.
Fans on social media were baffled by Canty’s take. After all, Joe Burrow did everything in his capacity to keep the Bengals alive and going. Here’s how they reacted to his take via X:
Did bro watch the same game? Lmfao 0 punts or turnovers for 60 minutes and it’s Joe Burrows fault?

I got a lot of love for Chris

This is ludicrous to say
76% comp., 324 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT, 33 points scored incl TDs on every 2nd half possession

No reasonable person who watched that thought Bengals offense or Burrow in particular was why CIN lost.
Man isn't even watching the game at this point.

Same man that thought the Browns left Cleveland because of lack of fan support

Maybe Chris Canty shouldn't have a platform?
He threw 300+yards 3 TD and no interceptions. He got beat by a better team and player. You can't blame this one on Joe Burrow. It's not always on the quarterback LMAO

The fact that the Bengals offense gave up 0 punts on Monday night is proof that Joe Burrow was not the reason they lost the game. He completed every drive and scored on each of them.
It was the defense which failed to make a stop and give the offense an opportunity to get back on the field. The 0-3 Bengals will look to secure their first win of the season on Sunday night as they play the Carolina Panthers.
