Patrick Mahomes is one of the best, if not the best, quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that he inspires the generation just after him. Some even imitate Mahomes’ every movement, including the way he speaks or plays ball.

Chris Oladokun falls into that category of players who learned a ton from studying Mahomes preparing and delivering wins on the gridiron. Oladokun had the privilege of learning Andy Reid‘s offense alongside the two-time NFL MVP for four years.

Ironically, he did not make a single start during that stretch despite winning two Super Bowl rings. His opportunity finally arrived at the expense of both Mahomes and QB2 Gardner Minshew.

Oladokun came on as a reliever for Minshew in Tennessee. It wasn’t a noteworthy debut, but he didn’t play poorly, finishing with 11 completions from 16 attempts for 111 yards. He did enough to secure a first start the following week in front of a packed Arrowhead Stadium.

The 28-year-old threw 13 completions for 66 passing yards as the Chiefs suffered a 20-13 defeat against the Denver Broncos. His best moment was very reminiscent of Mahomes. After a careless fumble, Oladokun picked up the ball and completed a short pass to WR Juju Smith-Schuster, much to the amusement of Travis Kelce.

Fans noticed similarities between Mahomes and Oladokun’s voice when the South Florida/Samford/South Dakota State alumnus addressed the rumors about Kelce’s retirement.

Hopefully, it’s not Trav’s [Travis Kelce’s] last year… He’ll make that decision in the offseason… Obviously, Chiefs Kingdom would love to have him back… The game needs him.

Mahomes has a very raspy voice, which sounds a lot like Kermit the Frog. Oladokun may sound like Mahomes, but he has a long way to go before reaching the 30-year-old’s level.

Of course, the biggest and the most well-known Mahomes clone is Dylan Raiola. The five-star quarterback displays similar mannerisms as his idol and even dons the number 15 for Nebraska.

Raiola recently concluded his second year of college football. The Huskers went 7-5 and are set to face Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl on New Year’s Day. However, Raiola won’t start for Nebraska, as he has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Did Patrick Mahomes attend the Chiefs Week 17 defeat against the Broncos?

Mahomes didn’t play for the Chiefs on Christmas Day. The Chiefs definitely missed his presence on the field. As he’s injured, the 3x Super Bowl winner took his place inside the VIP Suite.

He wasn’t alone. Minshew joined him to watch the game under the coyness of the heater.

Mahomes went through every possible emotion throughout the night. Cameras even caught him smiling to a Broncos touchdown during the two-minute drill in the final quarter. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix connected with rookie rusher RJ Harvey for a score. It brought a sneaky giggle out of 15.

Mahomes didn’t play because recently he underwent LCL and ACL surgery. He returned to Kansas City a couple of days later to continue his rehab. Minshew didn’t injure his ACL but hurt his knee, which forced the Chiefs to place him on IR.
