Chris Paul join the Spurs to play alongside Victor Wembanyama
The San Antonio Spurs were known to looking for a point guard to pair up alongside their young rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama. They reportedly have found one of the greatest point guards the NBA has ever seen and it’s none other than the ‘Point God’ Chris Paul.
NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Paul wants to sign with the Spurs after being waived by the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. After listening to the report fans were excited to see the pairing of Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul together. As fans have seen before how CP3 elevates the game of young superstars in the league.
Haynes also said in his report that Paul had a conversation with Spurs’ head coach, Greg Popovich. There he talked about being part of the Spurs culture and being able to elevate the talent of Wembanyama. Wemby averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in his rookie season and deservingly won the Rookie of the Year.
Fans have seen CP3 elevate the talent around him before during his days with the Los Angeles Clippers creating the ‘Lob City’. He brought the best out of Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan. It is still doubtful that CP3 would win a ring in a Spurs team that has been missing the playoffs for the last 5 years. However, it will be fun to see the 39-year-old guard help in the development of Wembanyama.
