It has been just two weeks since Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo tied the knot after dating for a little over 5 years. The couple tied the knot on the 29th of June and held their wedding in a small and private ceremony in Rhode Island.
It is only natural that Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo would have invited the closest of their kin. Cam Newton, former quarterback of the Carolina Panthers was not invited to the wedding bash and did not take it lightly. He revealed via his 4th and 1 Podcast that he was pretty bitter about the fact that CMac did not invite him to his big day and that he would have been happy to have been present there. While fans may have been quick to judge McCaffrey for not inviting Newton, the running back clarified why that is.
I haven't got a text back (from Cam Newton) in 4 years.Christian McCaffrey took to Instagram and commented on a clip
He kept it short and simple. But his justification made sense. After all, one would consider inviting the closest friends and members of one’s family to their big day, irrespective of how famous they might be. So, unfortunately, even though Cam Newton admits that he is bitter about not being invited to the wedding, he probably should have responded to that text from CMac.
Legitimate beef between Christian McCaffrey and Cam Newton unlikely
The duo played together for four seasons at the Carolina Panthers. They were indeed one of the most formidable duos in football. They did get to a Super Bowl together, during Cam’s MVP season, even though they lost the big game, it was a historic year for the Panthers franchise.
Cam Newton is not wrong to feel left out from being invited to Christian McCaffrey’s wedding because they did have one of the greatest Super Bowl runs together. However, the reason for his absence was just because the duo did not keep in touch after football.
The duo is bound to make up sooner or later when they run into one another at a social event or a game. As far as McCaffrey is concerned, he harbors no bad blood towards his former quarterback. He is in a better situation in the Bay Area and is well on his way to establishing himself as one of the best backs to ever play the game. It is unlikely that there is any legitimate beef between Newton and McCaffrey but the running back was right to ensure that his perspective was put out there too.
