The 2024 Copa America has entered its business end. Argentina, Canada, Uruguay and Colombia have booked their spots in the semi-final as all four teams are just two wins away from glory. However, the USMNT are far from the action after being eliminated early in the group stages. The side led by Christian Pulisic finished third in Group C with just 3 points.
After an underwhelming campaign, Pulisic has owned up to his team’s failures and apologized to fans on social media. Days before the semi-finals kick off, Pulisic took to Instagram, as he acknowledged that his team largely underperformed at the tournament.

You deserve and will get better US fans. Better days ahead.Christian Pulisic wrote on social media
The No.10 scored an unbelievable long ranger to kick off their campaign against Bolivia, but failed to find the net in the two matches that followed.
After losing 2-1 to Panama, the USMNT failed to topple Uruguay in a must-win game. As of now, Pulisic is blowing off steam alongside partner and professional golfer Alexa Melton.
Gregg Berhalter or Jurgen Klopp – What next for the USMNT?
Following an early exit from the 2024 Copa America, fans and players have a long list of things to go over that went wrong at the tournament. From a disappointing loss to 43rd ranked Panama, to the referee refusing to shake hands with Christian Pulisic, quite a few things went wrong for the men in white. As yet another major international competition ends in disappointment, several fans have called for the removal of head coach Gregg Berhalter.

Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been a vocal supporter of the USMNT and was even captured sporting a hat with the national team’s logo embedded on it. While the German manager ‘guarantees’ success, his arrival to the USMNT is anything but confirmed. It is understood that the equal pay rule in the USA may become a hindrance to his appointment, with his pay being not more than that of USWNT coach Emma Hayes.
Former USMNT star Kasey Keller pointed to the equal pay rule as something that may prevent Klopp from considering the job. As of now, the budget available to bring in Klopp is just $2 million. This is in stark contrast to what the German was earning while at Liverpool, which amounts to a total of more than $19 million! Klopp is yet to manage a national team and had announced earlier that he will not be taking up a managerial position anytime soon.
