Chaim David Bloom, American sports executive who is the Chief Baseball Officer for the Boston Red Sox said, “We’re trying to help the club,” on a night the Red Sox beat the Astros, 3-2. “We still want to make the postseason, and we’re also trying to make the right moves for the organization. So, the puzzle is incomplete right now.”
Boston Teammates were seen consoling Christian Vazquez, he was the longest tenured player in the organization. Yet again the Boston Red Sox move another cornerstone fan-favorite player.
“It’s been great playing with him. He’s been an unbelievable teammate. Probably one of my favorite teammates I’ve played with,” said Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez, another candidate to be traded. “He’s a great all-around person in general. We’re going to miss him.”
Christian Vazquez wasn’t included in the line-up for the Houston Astros on Monday night, but he should be a boost to their offense. With the reception he received before being traded by Red Sox, he would definitely be a boost for the series. So far this season he’s hitting .282 with eight home runs, 42 RBI and an OPS of .759.
