Eric Gordon praises youngster Christian Wood and emphasizes that he is similar to Lakers’ Anthony Davis after the latter slams 27-point double-double in the pre-season game against San Antonio Spurs. It wasn’t only the effort Wood showcased on the offensive end. But the overall boost he gave to his teammates making 10 rebounds as well. With Demarcus Cousins and John Wall both benched for being prepared for their regular season encounter against Oklahoma City Thunder on December 24. 

Amidst so many controversies and a tough off-season. The only thing Rockets would want, is a good pre-season. After the first pre-season game, they have been well on track. Their top free agency target, Christian Wood showed the Rockets exactly why they picked him. 

Can Christian Wood be like Anthony Davis? 

As per Tim MacMahon, Eric Gordon believes the same. He said, “He’s similar to like an Anthony Davis.”  This was in reference to Wood’s shooting abilities and also the ability to play as a big above the rim.

Despite coming off the bench late, Wood never hesitated to shoot his shot. Scoring 10 from 18, he even gelled up well with James Harden. Being the evident quick mover he is, Wood had no problem with anyone from the Spurs roster defending him. He has signed a $41 million contract for three years with the Rockets. Also having to miss the previous games as he was dealing with a slight elbow injury. 

But in the pre-season game Spurs offense was an evident and visible problem. Having not being so active in the off-season, Spurs were loyal to a majority of their players. But as the regular season is just about the corner, Spurs continuing the same form can face catastrophic defeats against big teams like Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors and many more.
