  • Vandeweghe shared her excitement to work with Eubanks again during the French Open.

Christopher Eubanks and CoCo Vandeweghe clashed on-air after a fun serve challenge. The clip of the same went viral as social media users thought they were actually having a real argument.

This happened during the Indian Wells. During their serve speed challenge, Vandeweghe managed to hit faster serves than Eubanks, and later during their Tennis Channel discussions, she tried to tease him. In response, Eubanks told her to stop talking about her accomplishments and instead focus on the players. While those watching the clip thought the two former players were fighting, Eubanks, during his interview with Front Office Sports, revealed it was not the case at all.

CoCo and I have an unbelievable relationship, like, we love having banter back and forth. We love giving each other a hard time. She’s one of my favorite people to work with in media because of that, because there aren’t that many people that I feel that level of comfort with, of having that kind of joking banter back and forth.

Eubanks even rolled his eyes when Vandeweghe told him she keeps recreating a new career. Well, the 29-year-old wanted to add some dramatic effects during their banter.

I had the overly dramatic eyeroll, which I thought would come across as a joke because of how dramatic it was. The fact that I turned the mic, leaned my head, and rolled my eyes was all meant to be a joke.

Christopher Eubanks added

Vandeweghe also took to X and wrote that she can’t wait to work with the former ATP player during the French Open.

Chris is one of my favorite people. Nothing but love and I can’t wait to light it up at RG.

CoCo Vandeweghe explains why Elena Rybakina troubles Aryna Sabalenka so much

Aryna Sabalenka emerged victorious in an Indian Wells singles final for the first time in her career. She came from a set down to defeat Elena Rybakina, taking her Australian Open and WTA Finals defeat revenge. Prior to the match, Vandeweghe explained why she thinks the Kazakh ace challenges the four-time Grand Slam singles champion so much.

It just shows that when she gets deep in a draw, Elena Rybakina, she is dominant. We saw a couple of other stats where she’s 5 and 0 in finals. So you see her game come to full form, and her ability to tack her game onto the best in the world, and that’s not easy to do when you’re facing world number one, top ten players, to be able to use your game and actually beat them at first strike tennis, and Rybakina has shown that she has done it more times than not.

CoCo Vandeweghe said on Tennis Channel

Both Rybakina and Sabalenka are in Miami for the fourth WTA 1000 of the season. While Sabelenka is the defending champion, Rybakina will play as the two-time finalist. The World No.2 lost to Petra Kvitova in 2023 and to Danielle Collins the following season. Last year, she suffered an opening-round exit. Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula last year to win her first Sunshine Doubles singles title.

The 27-year-old will also be chasing her third title of the season. Before her defeat to Rybakina in the Melbourne Slam, Sabalenka defended her US Open title against Marta Kostyuk.

Thanks to her Indian Wells campaign, Rybakina removed six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek to become the newest World No.2 player. Rybakina will play Janice Tjen or Yulia Putintseva in her campaign opener, while the first seed will lock horns with Ann Li or Kimberly Birrell in her opening-round match.
