Chelsea will look to offload Christopher Nkunku on loan if the player requests the club for a move away from Stamford Bridge. An exclusive report from Giuseppe Labellerte of TBR states that the Blues will allow the player to leave if he does not want to stay at the club. If Chelsea decides to do that, the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and PSG are interested in him. Nkunku himself wants to be the main man of an important club.
When he moved to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, fans and analysts thought that he would go on to play a big role for the Blues in the 2024/25 season. He was linked to Chelsea and finally bought by them after they were not able to land Victor Osimhen. As such, people thought that the workload would be on Nukunku.
He has played 25 matches in all competitions so far this season and has scored 12 goals with four assists. Nkunku is the top scorer for Chelsea, but most of his goals have come in the Conference League and other competitions. The striker has scored just two goals in the 16 matches that he has played in the Premier League so far this season.
Enzo Maresca wants Nkunku to play as a number 10 and not as a number nine. However, the player faces tough competition from Joao Felix and Cole Palmer in that position. Moreover, he has been a backup for Nicolas Jackson. The Blues want to sign a new striker, and the future of the Frenchman is still uncertain.
If the player himself wants to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window, then Chelsea will allow him to leave on loan. However, the club would only facilitate a loan move if it has a clause in the deal to sign him permanently at the end of the loan.
Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in Christopher Nkunku
Nkunku is great at dribbling. He uses his agility and close ball control to go through tight defenses. His ability to maneuver in tight spaces makes him a constant threat. Nkunku is a great finisher as well and has shown his composure in front of the goal. He can score with both power and finesse from various distances and angles.
Arsenal are also interested in signing Nkunku. However, this does not seem possible given that Chelsea won’t allow the player to leave on loan to their rival club. Moreover, Mikel Arteta‘s side is not expected to pay big for the player, and hence, Manchester United might be the one benefiting from it.
Ruben Amorim wants to strengthen his team’s attack and has turned his attention toward Nkunku. However, PSG poses a major obstacle in their race to get him. The club wants to bring back the player if they do get an opportunity to sign him.
