WATCH: Churro-eating Charles Barkley trolls women of San Antonio in hilarious social media video
Chuck can never get enough of the city of San Antonio.
Charles Barkley brought out his San Antonio line yet again
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley is one of the most hilarious post-game/halftime show hosts. Chuck is better known for his funny takes on every other aspect and also for his back-and-forth with co-host Shaquille O’Neal. Both seem to go at each other now and then, with O’Neal teasing Chuck for not ever having won a championship.
Barkley’s history with his comments on the women of San Antonio, is quite famous. Whenever the show covers Spurs games, Chuck often brings back the classic admiration of the same.
Recently, Barkley was enjoying his time in San Antonio when he posted a video on his Instagram having churros.
San Antonio, guess who's coming to town!Charles Barkley said in the video
The comments on the same reel had equally funny replies. Even the fans love hearing Barkley talk about the women in San Antonio. However, following an article that was written on the host fat-shaming women, Barkley was asked to close the door on his signature line. The joke that had been very much alive for over a decade came to an end, though the compilations of the same have gathered millions of views online. What is more interesting is the origin of Barkley calling out the women of San Antonio, which almost didn’t happen.
Charles Barkley almost did not talk about the women in San Antonio
The origin of Charles Barkley’s comments on the women in San Antonio goes way back to 2010. As Ernie Johnson was about to conclude the episode, Chuck brought up the topic of the women in San Antonio.
Just then, Ernie Johnson tried to stop Barkley from making any such comments, as it was a family show. Regardless, Barkley didn’t hold himself back.
One thing about San Antonio, them women down there... Imma tell you something, they got no skinny women down there.Charles Barkley quipped
A confused Johnson seemed disappointed after Barkley’s words. That’s when the most well-known joke from Chuck originated and fans got hold of it. After Shaquille O’Neal joined the show, Chuck’s words for the women in San Antonio did not take a break. Out of all the hosts, Shaq seems to have enjoyed this joke the most, as it’s one of the only jokes from Chuck that he admired.
O’Neal even used to remind Barkley whenever he missed the part where he was supposed to talk about the women in San Antonio when covering Spurs games. Chuck often makes some funny jokes on the show, but this particular one will go down as his signature line, whenever TNT broadcasted Spurs games.
