Reportedly, the NFL athlete has signed a one-year contract worth $21 million to start off. Nobody is happier than Wilson’s wife, Ciara, who took the Yankees-inspired celebration to her Instagram stories.

After weeks of speculation, Russell Wilson’s news broke a week after the Giants signed Jameis Winston to a two-year contract. Pop singer Ciara, Wilson’s wife, was extremely delighted to hear of his husband’s new NFL team.

Posting a picture of Wilson in a Yankees outfit, she wrote a wholesome caption, calling her husband her “inspiration”. To back her picture up, she posted Jay-Z and Alicia Keys‘ song Empire State of Mind while thinking of New York.

This isn’t the first time Ciara has publicly supported her husband in his career choices. Nor has Wilson hesitated to extend his support to the Grammy award-winning singer. The couple has been married for almost a decade, having tied the knot in 2016.

They met shortly after the pop singer broke up with fellow musician Future. Ciara and Russell Wilson now have four kids together who are a recurring presence at the athlete’s matches. While his ground may change, his family’s support will remain constant.

Notably, Wilson was a two-sport athlete back in his college days. He also played two seasons with MLB’s Colorado Rockies in the minor league system. However, he soon switched his attention to football in 2011.
