Andy Murray Milos Raonic
Two familiar foes, Andy Murray and Milos Raonic, will collide in this gigantic Round of 16 clash at the Cincinnati Open 2020. Both the players were wild card entrants in the tournament, however, they have battled past the first two rounds to set up this mouth-watering encounter.
Talking about the performance at the ATP Masters 1000 event so far, 33-year old Murray had a tough outing in both the previous rounds. The three-time Grand Slam champion first faced local favourite Frances Tiafoe in the Round of 64 match. He had to dig deep before defeating the young American 7-6, 3-6, 6-1. Similarly, in the second round, the Scot needed his A-game to beat fifth-seeded Alexander Zverev in a marathon match 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. It was Murray’s first victory over a top-10 player since defeating Japanese Kei Nishikori in 2017.
On the other hand, 29-year old Raonic had relatively easy matches in the first two rounds, with none going to the distance. The former Wimbledon finalist comfortably got the better of American Sam Querrey 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. In the Round of 32 match, the Canadian faced no difficulty in going past Great Britain’s Dan Evans as he thrashed the Briton 6-3, 7-5.

While World No.134 Murray hasn’t had the smooth ride in the tournament so far, Raonic has rather looked at ease. Having said that, Andy Murray had a tougher draw than Milos Raonic. Honestly, it is next to impossible to predict the winner of this match. However, Murray has a slight edge over Raonic in terms of head-to-head meetings, current momentum, and wins over top players. The winner would probably be the player from Great Britain, however, not before being tested by Raonic. It is going to be a hell of a tough game.
