As much as Simone Biles is beloved across the country, her husband and NLF player Jonathan Ownes often finds himself at odds with the fans. Whether it is posing wearing her Olympic Gold medal or claiming the “catch” in their relationship, fans get triggered by Owens’ words.

The saga continued in Part 2 of the “Simone Biles Rising,” where Biles addressed the heavy criticism that the Chicago Bears safety receives to this day, over his comment of being “the catch” last year. Owens made the remarks during an interview with The Pivot, which quickly drew criticism from fans, who disapproved of the NFL player asserting he was out of the league for a four-time Olympic gold medalist

Speaking on her husband’s behalf, Biles claimed that Owens’ remark was taken way out of the context by the fans. She also called out the fans for assuming they know everything about her life or the equation she shares with her husband, highlighting how mentally exhausting their judgments can be.

Most of the time they don’t understand the mental toll that it takes, especially going into an Olympic year. This isn’t the first time Biles has defended the former Green Bay Packers safety over his “catch” comment. She discarded the fans’ criticism by stating that people who actually know Owens are well aware of how kind and supportive he is towards her.

While addressing the fans directly, the seven-time Olympics medalist asserted that she would be suppressed by them and she’ll always “have a voice.” Though she appreciates the love and appreciation she receives from fans all across the country, she does appreciate being compared to her husband

Biles also called out the fans for equating her relationship with Owens “to the amount of trophies and medals and accolades that I have,” stating that’s not how love is measured. The love birds who met during the troubled time of the pandemic share a great bond and go out of their way to show each other.
