CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard spoil James Harden’s season debuts
James Harden made his 2020-21 season debut against Portland Trail Blazers led by Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. As Harden was left alone without his partner John Wall, he surely did not feel the need to have anyone by his side. Harden scored 44 points and 17 assists and even took the game to OverTime against the Trail Blazers. But the formidable duo of CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard kept their calm till the very end to see of James Harden and his Houston Rockets.
James Harden double-double in his debut game was impressive. However, CJ McCollum scored 44 points with 8 assists, whereas Damian Lillard scored 32 points with 9 assists registered against his name. With the core being a tie at 113-113 after 4 quarters. The game headed to OT.

James Harden was supported beautifully by Christian Wood, who also backed a double-double against his name. Wood scored 31 points and 13 rebounds. With only these 4 spoken about stars performing and playing significant roles for their franchise, it was evident that one of them will be the difference maker. With just over 6 seconds left on the clock, CJ McCollum made a 25-foot three-point jumper. Which led to Rockets taking a much-needed timeout. After which Harden’s bad pass led to Robert Covington’s steals and that was the game for the Rockets.
The positive for the Rockets was the fact that even though they have had an evident tiff with their marquee player James Harden all throughout the off-season. He seems to be raring to go on the court for them. With John Wall by his side, he can be as ferocious as he wants, with someone scoring continuously from open plays. As the remaining season unfolds, let’s see how the Beard plays and where he plays in the 2020-21 season.
