The Houston Texans may not have the first-round picks for the upcoming NFL draft. But it doesn’t stir down the optimism the Rookie of the Year CJ Stroud has for playing with the top prospects, most supposedly with the best wide receiver of Class 2024.

Amidst the ongoing debates on Marvin Harrison Jr.’s draft predictions, CJ Stroud expressed his shock over the chances his former Ohio State teammate wouldn’t get drafted as the first receiver in the 2024 NFL draft. Given, that Stroud has previously formed the dynamic receiver-QB duo with Harrison, he knows how dominant the latter is on the football field.

Why should it be 'Marv'? Put on the tape. He's done it from really his freshman year, his true freshman year, to now. I think I read something like he’s NFL-ready, but other guys have more potential. That makes no sense.
CJ Stroud said at Phase 1 of offseason workouts.

However, it doesn’t mean the Texans’ star quarterback thinks any less of the top receiving prospects Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze, who have the chance to surpass Harrison in the draft. Just that, Stroud believes the Ohio State receiver is the best of his draft class.

You want longevity, you want somebody who has been doing it. For him, that’s what he sleeps, eats and breathes. He’s a worthy talent, but his work ethic and how he gravitates that room.

While talking about how Harrison deserves to be the first wideout to get drafted, Stroud also gave a crucial piece of advice for the NFL teams with first-round picks in need of a good receiver.

Whoever's up there man, be smart. Don't be dumb. Don't think too hard.

Moreover, the star quarterback Stroud also expressed his desire to play with his former teammate. The two for sure had been a dynamic duo at Ohio State as Harrison led the Big Ten in touchdown catches.
