As the teams approach week 5 of the 2024 season, there’s an exciting matchup scheduled that even the haters wouldn’t miss— Houston Texans vs. Buffalo Bills on October 6th. The exciting element of this matchup is Stefon Diggs facing his former team for the first time since his infamous departure.

The drama has already begun, as ahead of the thrilling match, the Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen took a subtle jab at the wide receiver, taunting that Diggs plays for his individual statistics rather than being a team player and contributing to the team’s victory. While Diggs has remained silent on the troll from last month, his current quarterback CJ Stroud didn’t let it go so easily.

It’s been great. I think he got a bad rap just by the media and by people. But he’s been nothing but just amazing to this team and to his teammates. He’s helped me out a ton. As you can see, we’re clicking more and more every game. So, I’m very happy for him and I’m glad that he’s finally having fun playing the game and doing what he loves to do because he loves football a lot.

The Texans’ star indirectly criticized the Bills for not allowing Diggs to embrace football at his preference, saying the four-time Pro Bowler is “finally happy” doing what he loves. Contrary to Diggs’ infamous locker room reputation, Stroud claimed feeling “awesome” around the wide receiver.

Diggs might not been an exemplary duo with Allen, but he seems to be connecting quite well with the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year. In the last four games, the two have connected 25 times for 233 yards and two scores– making football more fun for the receiver.

I have a lot of fun. Obviously, I do have a little bit of a rapport with C.J. prior to [the trade]. It’s easy to get a bad rap.

Although the Pro Bowler isn’t being targeted as he used to in Buffalo, he remains unfazed by the slower pace. For now, Diggs is diverting all his focus towards the upcoming Sunday’s game which many are referring to as revenge game.
