The Houston Texans welcomed the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day knowing it will be a fight against a stud playoff team. To give their home fans the perfect Christmas present quarterback CJ Stroud had to outbattle Lamar Jackson.

The game did not start to the home team’s liking as Jackson and his offense built up a lead and extended it until half time. In turn, it was the Ravens defense that played lights out to stop the Texans from scoring on any offensive drive.

The only points that the Texans put up was when rookie corner Kamari Lassiter tackled Derrick Henry inside the Ravens end zone to cement a safety. That meant the Texans went into half time knowing they had to come out in the second half with a response.

However, that idea went moot when Kyle Hamilton intercepted CJ Stroud in their first stint out in the second half. To rub salt into their wounds, Lamar Jackson ran 48 yards to score a touchdown on the next drive. That run left the so far good Texans defense stranded and unable to do anything.

Their mood was deflated as their play in the rest of the game showed the Houston Texans lost the plot. They had three more chances to put points on the board but could not do anything as the Baltimore Ravens defense stopped them on every turn. The embarrassment for home fans did not stop there.

Once the away team understood the Texans had no chance, they rested their starting offensive and defensive lineups. Their second unit drained seven minutes from the fourth quarter and ensured the score ended 31-2 in their favor.

Fans lose their minds watching CJ Stroud and Texans offense collapse

The NFL scheduled the four teams for their Christmas Day games specials on Netflix so that the world over fans could enjoy what the league is all about. The first game was also a blowout but still had points from both teams. This one had fans shaking their heads. Fans fumed watching a team as good as the Houston Texans embarrass themselves on both sides of the ball.

They felt the team does not have any pride in the way they played tonight. In addition, they felt bad for Texans fans who went home disappointed after watching their team being beaten this badly. Examples of such comments from social media are listed below.

CJ Stroud could not get anything going from the depleted offense. On top of it, the Texans defense that was playing at a high level all season long looked vulnerable. After watching this, football fans will wonder if the team has the ability to play in the postseason.
