“Classless Loser!” – Pacers star ejected for bumping female referee during loss has NBA fans
Pacers star Bennedict Mathurin faces wrath of NBA community for his recent gesture toward NBA female referee in his recent match vs the Cavs.
Bennedict Mathurin
The Indiana Pacers played against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Interestingly, the Pacers were going toe-to-toe against this season’s best NBA team, the Cavs. This was until their star Bennedict Mathurin lost his head in the 4th quarter, resulting in an ejection and also his team losing 117-127.
In the team’s second consecutive game against the Cavaliers, Mathurin was clearly called for a foul against a driving Evan Mobley. It looked like a clear foul, but Mathurin didn’t believe it. He instantly raised his arms in the air and started ranting at referee Natalie Sago. Mathurin followed Sago and kept shouting as she went to the scorer’s bench to verify the call.

After giving Sago a clap in the face, he finally ran into her. He was dismissed from the game after receiving two technical fouls right away. This behavior by Mathurin did not go down well with many NBA fans watching it on Live TV or the court. Given that, the Pacers star stated that he did apologize and make amends with the referee after the game.
Mathurin's quote about apologizing to Natalie Sago: "I went to see Natalie and everything, and everything's alright. I went to apologize for the unfortunate situation. We were able to end on good terms. I wish her to have a great night. The next time we meet it's all friendly."

The expense of Mathurin’s departure was enormous. Because he helped the Pacers cut a 15-point gap to just six points in the final minutes, Bennedict Mathurin was in the middle of an outstanding fourth-quarter surge. The 6-foot-5 Arizona player finished with four rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block, and 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the field, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Fans left furious after witnessing Bennedict Mathurin’s aggression
Everything was going well for the Indiana Pacers against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. However, things quickly took a U-turn after their star Mathurin ‘bumped’ into the female referee during the 4th quarter. This resulted in a double technical for Mathurin, followed by him getting tossed from that game.
In addition, NBA fans did not like the way Mathurin accosted referee Natalie Sago. Many furious fans took to various social media apps to put forward their views and thoughts on this situation. One fan wrote on X, “Benedict Mathurin, Classless Loser.” Check out some of the reactions below:

All-NBA point guard Tyrese Haliburton has been playing poorly for the Pacers due to a minor groin ailment. Aaron Nesmith, their usual starting small forward, has missed all but six games this season due to a sprained left ankle, so Bennedict Mathurin has been starting for the majority of the season. Up next for the Pacers are the Detroit Pistons on January 17.
