Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will no longer share the court

The Los Angeles Clippers and Paul George have parted ways, with Geroge opting to enter the 2024 NBA Free Agency recently. However, this was reportedly due to the Clippers not being honest with George, refusing to tell him their plans. Now NBA Insider Brian Windhorst has made an intriguing revelation regarding George and Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard.

On the NBA on ESPN show, Windhorst claimed that George was betrayed by the Clippers by not informing him about Leonard signing a $153 million deal. Windhorst also stated that George was never informed about the Leonard-Clippers deal and found out the news like “just another fan.”

Here’s the problem, when (the Clippers) signed Kawhi to that deal, whatever it was, last December or January, they never told Paul George about it, Paul George found out about it when the rest of the world found out about it. Forget what the Clippers say, judge them on their actions, their actions over the season and their actions here in free agency indicate they are ready to move on from Paul George.

However, George did not keep sulking as he has already moved on from the Clippers by signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference. After reportedly agreeing to a four-year, $212 million deal, George will join former MVP Joel Embiid and fellow superstar Tyrese Maxey in Philadelphia, forming a new big three.

Paul George’s inclusion into 76ers makes them NBA title contenders for upcoming season

As per various reports, Paul George signed a $212 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2024-25 NBA season. This deal will come in as a big boost for the Sixers’ fans and fellow players, with George coming off a good season with the Clippers. The 76ers hope to challenge the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics for the championship, with George’s addition adding balance to the 76ers.

At 34 years old, 6-foot-8 wing George is still among the league’s best two-way players. During his final season with the Los Angeles Clippers, he shot 47.1% from the field and recorded a career-high 41.3% from three, averaging 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

It’s interesting to note that George completes one of the most formidable big threes in the NBA with Embiid in the paint and Maxey at point guard, though his health will still be a concern. George hadn’t participated in more than 56 games in any of his previous four seasons, despite playing 74 games in 2023–24.
