CM Punk finally got his revenge on his archenemy Drew McIntyre, as he defeated him in a strap match. This was his first singles match victory since making his return at Survivor Series: WarGames last year. After losing to him at SummerSlam, The Scottish Warrior insulted Punk about still having his precious bracelet in his possession. The 45-year-old veteran responded by delivering a brutal beatdown with a strap in the following weeks.
Before the match could even start at the Bash in Berlin PLE, McIntyre brutally attacked CM Punk from behind. The Scottish Warrior continued to punish his arch enemy by striking him repeatedly with a strap. The match finally started with McIntyre dominating The Second City Saint with devastating chops. He even used the strap to his advantage, executing unique moves with it.
Punk quickly halted Drew McIntyre’s momentum after he touched one corner by surprising him with a GTS. At one point, the veteran considered touching the corners, but his focus remained solely on punishing McIntyre. However, his emotions got the better of him, allowing The Scotsman to regain control. Both stars went to war, with Punk bringing in tables while the 39-year-old attacked him with a chair.
The fierce rivals made several attempts to win the match by touching the four corners, but they repeatedly thwarted each other. In the final moments, The Best in the World hit McIntyre with four consecutive GTSs and won the match by touching all the corners. However, his revenge was truly complete when he retrieved his bracelet, which The Scottish Warrior had tormented him with for weeks.
