CM Punk will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor on tonight’s overseas Raw in Belfast, Ireland. ‘The Best in the World’ has fired a warning shot for the man who’s about to witness a spectacular homecoming in just a few hours. Balor recently posted a picture on social media with his 94-year-old grandmother.
‘The Prince’ got some life tips and learned about the history of their island from his grandma. Punk, taking a dig at both of them, commented on Balor’s Instagram post, saying, “Got a GTS for each of ya.”
While the World Heavyweight Champion has hilariously hit back at his opponent now, the Judgment Day member did it first. The latter trolled the ‘Second City Saint’ through a savage Then vs. Now comparison.

Despite going way back in time together, Punk and Balor never crossed paths inside the ring. This week’s Raw will be headlined by these veterans of the game. ‘The Best in the World’ weathered the Bron Breakker storm a few weeks ago to retain the world title. After getting rid of nearly a 20-year-younger freak of nature, CM Punk will wage war against a world-traveled athlete in Finn Balor.
Some fans are manifesting a title change due to the Irishman being long overdue for a proper world title run after it tragically ended merely 24 hours later the first time around in 2016. Balor, draped in the colors of his alter-ego back then, had ousted Seth Rollins to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion. But the ‘Irish Captor’ had to relinquish it on Raw after SummerSlam due to a shoulder injury.
Almost a decade has gone by, but Balor couldn’t relive that sort of a high in that span. After he recently vowed during a promo on Raw that he’ll bring championship gold to the Judgment Day in 2026, the speculation of him beating Punk for the World Heavyweight title picked up steam on social media.
The ex-Bullet Club leader will have the backing of his countrymen tonight. It would be interesting to see if it’d make any difference.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes shared a funny moment during a recent WWE live event
The ongoing WWE house show loop in Europe has already produced some fulfilling moments involving the company’s top stars. Speaking of whom, CM Punk got caught peeking his head out from the entrance stage at WWE’s latest live event in Nottingham. As posted by the company on its X handle, one could see ‘The American Nightmare’ hilariously point at ‘The Best in the World’.

Rhodes brought Punk out in front of the fans, with both stars sharing a hearty laugh. ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ was the epicenter of another wholesome interaction with Je’Von Evans a few days ago. ‘The Young OG’ became a photographer for a while and kept capturing the ‘Best in the World’ for anything and everything he posed for, as could be seen below.

Evans, apparently a CM Punk fanboy himself, also gifted a Punk tee to a kid in the crowd last night at the house show in Nottingham. Moments like these only reaffirm a change of heart that the ‘Best in the World’ has undergone ever since returning to WWE in November 2023.

The 47-year-old has been actively posting pictures on social media with his fellow wrestlers, mostly the younger generation. CM Punk was even among that group of stars that went to the beach on WWE’s ongoing stay in the UK. Punk’s standing among his peers might be at its highest at the moment due to how much mingling he has been in recent years.
