CM Punk faced a crushing defeat at the Royal Rumble, casting doubt on his path to WrestleMania. However, on Raw, The Best in the World managed to secure a spot in the Elimination Chamber match, keeping his WrestleMania hopes alive. Recently, Punk shared his thoughts on his most recent loss in an interview on WWE’s YouTube channel, offering an intriguing response.

The Second City Saint described wrestling as a selfish business, where every man and woman fights for themselves. He emphasized that superstars are pursuing their own causes and opportunities, not working for a team. According to Punk, what transpired at the Royal Rumble was a perfect reflection of what the wrestling business truly is.

This is a very selfish business. I don’t like talking about myself because I wind up saying these wildly, what I feel, are egotistical things like I’m tired of pretending that half the locker room didn’t buy a pair of boots because they saw CM Punk wrestle.

Additionally, The Straight Edge Superstar revealed that he’s tired of pretending not to take credit. He boldly claimed that half of the locker room is wrestling today because of his influence and popularity. While the former WWE Champion expressed respect for past generations, it was a more focused-than-ever Punk, who vowed to fight for his own success in the company.

With that, CM Punk now sets his sights on the Elimination Chamber match, where he joins John Cena in the hunt for an opportunity to main event WrestleMania 41. It will be fascinating to see if The Best in the World can overcome the challenge in Toronto and continue his journey toward the biggest stage in wrestling.

CM Punk makes a heartfelt confession on John Cena

CM Punk and John Cena are two of the biggest rivals in WWE history, with their 2011 feud still regarded as one of the greatest stories of all time. Their rivalry took another turn as they faced off in the Royal Rumble match last weekend. After the match, The Second City Saint had choice words for The Cenation Leader as he continued his own path.

Speaking on WWE’s YouTube channel, Punk revealed his wish to spend as much time as possible with Cena backstage at the Royal Rumble. Aware that his time in the company is limited, Punk sought to absorb as much knowledge as he could. During Cena’s appearance at the Rumble last week, they discussed a variety of topics. Punk was eager to make the most of this opportunity.

I try to hang out with him as much as I could backstage at the Rumble, just because I know this is fleeting. I’m not going to get the time to spend with him. So, I tried to spend as much time as I possibly could with him.

The Second City Saint stated that working with the 16-time Champion on the road to WrestleMania would be an honor. The two are set to share the ring once again at the Elimination Chamber later this month. It will be intriguing to see how this rivalry unfolds.
