Following last week’s beatdown on Drew McIntyre, CM Punk had a message to deliver to his adversary on the latest episode of Raw. Punk arrived in a mood to fight and laid down a challenge to McIntyre for Bash in Berlin. The Second City Saint revealed that he spoke to Raw GM Adam Pearce, who had no issues with the match. Moreover, with a belt around his shoulders, Punk announced a special stipulation for the grudge bout.
After whipping McIntyre with a belt, the Best in the World challenged him to a ‘Strap Match’. This brought out the Scot, who did not hesitate in accepting. McIntyre explained that he needed to exact revenge for what transpired last week. Further, he mentioned the scars he endured due to the belt treatment. As such, the former Intercontinental Champion wanted to get inside the ring and repay the favor to Punk. However, the latter refused to let go of the belt.
Punk promised to do so only if McIntyre gave him back the bracelet. The Scottish Warrior continued to mock the former AEW wrestler, bringing up his wife, AJ Lee, and dog, Larry. Drew McIntyre felt that his family was much safer in his hand. In response, Punk reminded his rival that at Bash in Berlin, they would be strapped to each other with nowhere to run for him.
At SummerSlam, McIntyre picked up the win in their first grudge match. Seth Rollins, who was the special guest referee, played a crucial role in the finish. The Visionary inadvertently distracted CM Punk, which allowed the former WWE Champion to emerge victorious. Without Rollins’ involvement at Bash in Berlin, fans will finally get to see a physical one-on-one match between the pair.
CM Punk called out Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock during Fanatics Fest appearance
WWE’s Fanatics Fest was a major success for the company. Among the several attractions at the event was none other than CM Punk. In addition to interacting with the fans, the Voice of the Voiceless also answered questions from the audience.
During the Q&A session, Punk addressed the possibility of facing The Rock again. The 45-year-old not only called out Rocky but also laid down a challenge to Stone Cold Steve Austin. Moreover, he claimed that he was open to facing the two Attitude Era legends on back-to-back nights at WrestleMania.
Since returning to WWE, fans have speculated about a potential Austin vs. Punk match. Last week, the Hall of Famer teased that he would show up at next year’s Showcase of Immortals after missing out this year. As for The Final Boss, he has confirmed his participation for WrestleMania 41 and is expected to continue his rivalry against Cody Rhodes.
