Following Raw General Manager Adam Pearce‘s announcement on Raw, the rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre is far from over. The fierce rivals will face each other in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. Although the Best in the World was not present on the latest episode of Raw, he sent a message to his arch-nemesis on social media ahead of their match.
CM Punk took to Instagram and shared a story featuring a picture of himself with his face covered in blood. The 45-year-old veteran indirectly asserted that he was ready for the Bad Blood PLE and would not shy away from shedding blood. The bloody photo Punk shared was from his Dog Collar match against MJF at AEW Revolution in 2022.
An interesting point to note is that this match might not have happened if it weren’t for Drew McIntyre. On last week’s episode of Raw, Punk came out to address the WWE Universe, stating that he was done with McIntyre and would now focus on becoming the world champion. However, The Sinister Scotsman brutally attacked him, even breaking his precious bracelet before attempting to shove it down his throat.
On Raw, GM Adam Pearce informed McIntyre that Punk wasn’t done with him yet. He made the Hell in a Cell match between the two fierce rivals official for the Bad Blood PLE. Both Punk and McIntyre will aim to ensure that the other cannot walk out of the cell on their feet.
Drew McIntyre talked about his iconic triple threat match against Gunther and Sheamus at WrestleMania 39
McIntyre has competed in numerous world-class matches throughout his lengthy career. While some may argue that his battles with Randy Orton were incredible, others consider his world title match against Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle to be his best. The 39-year-old star recently revealed what he considered the greatest match of his career, and it wasn’t either of those.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast, The Scottish Warrior discussed his match against Gunther and Sheamus at WrestleMania 39. He described it as the best match of his career and even claimed it was the greatest triple threat match in history. McIntyre noted that all three of them shared similarities in their physical in-ring abilities, which made the match even more special.
That was bell to bell, the best match of my career. The history I have with Sheamus? For the past 20 years, in the ring and out the ring, everything we’ve gone through together, and then adding Gunther, was somebody who’s just very similar to us, such an incredible physical in-ring talent.Drew McIntyre via The Insight
The former world champion expressed that his wish was fulfilled by having the opportunity to wrestle one-on-one with The Celtic Warrior at WrestleMania. The duo had the most action in the match, exchanging finishing moves in a fierce battle. However, The Ring General capitalized at the right moment, swooping in to retain his Intercontinental title.
