CM Punk‘s iconic run as the head of the Straight Edge Society cemented him as a top heel in WWE. The faction comprised Luke Gallows and Serena alongside its leader. Although the faction disbanded in 2010, two of its members finally got a chance to catch up 14 years later.

The Voice of the Voiceless recently shared photos on his Instagram stories of him catching up with his fellow WWE stars. The photo features the 45-year-old with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The trio was enjoying a char dog outside The Wiener’s Circle, a popular fast-food joint in Chicago.

The Straight Edge Society’s storylines and segments were unlike anything on WWE TV at the time. They contained disturbing elements and talked about cults and substance abuse, something unbeknownst to the PG era. The faction consisted of just three members for the majority of its lifecycle. However, Joey Mercury joined the group for a few months.

Punk’s work in the faction propelled him to the Summer of Punk. This led to his iconic feud with John Cena and subsequent reign as the WWE Champion for over a year. Meanwhile, Gallows would also go on to have the run of his career in NJPW alongside Karl Anderson

The next episode of SmackDown will be hosted in Chicago, Illinois. The Good Brothers may be set to appear on the show or in a dark match. Apparently, they decided to catch up with a friend before the episode. CM Punk has also been announced to make a hometown appearance at the show. However, this may be a dark appearance after the show goes off the air, considering he is signed to the red brand.

Jim Ross wishes CM Punk was still with AEW

The Best in the World was fired from the AEW in August 2023. The Straight Edge Superstar had a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In. After the incident, the disciplinary committee considered it best to let him go.

This decision did not sit right with many fans, and it also upset many of Punk’s friends. On a recent episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross, while happy for Punk, admitted to wishing that he was still with the company.

He revealed that the 45-year-old texted him often to check up on him. Both of them liked and respected each other. The AEW commentator deeply missed the former WWE Champion and was upset that such a big talent had to be let go.
