CM Punk reveals his next step to shut down trolls after main-eventing WrestleMania 41
CM Punk has a message for those who keep moving the goalpost further when it comes to main eventing WrestleMania.

CM Punk lived his lifelong dream of main-eventing WrestleMania this year, but there’s a catch. He closed the first night with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Twenty-four hours later, Cody Rhodes and John Cena battled it out on Sunday, which many consider was the actual main event of the two-night wrestling spectacle.
Punk recently responded to a comment on his Instagram live stream asking if he thought he’d be able to achieve that feat again. The Chicagoan was sure about it and went a step further, saying night two for the people who always move the goalposts. The 46-year-old got emotional on national television when Paul Heyman informed his former best friend that he was indeed going on last at WrestleMania.

At the event, with Heyman in his corner, Punk would’ve fancied himself as the favorite over Reigns and Rollins. However, the WWE Hall of Famer betrayed The Second City Saint and emulated those exploits on The OTC moments later. Consequently, The Mad Genius sided with Rollins, who would go on to pin Reigns. The ending protected Punk and basically entailed that the saga wasn’t over.
On Raw after WrestleMania, The Best in the World went right after The Visionary and almost made it to Heyman. However, Rollins jumped the former AEW star from behind. Reigns was out next for revenge but got cut in half by Bron Breakker, who just unveiled himself as Rollins’ bodyguard. This could potentially lead to an all-star tag team match with Rollins and Breakker taking on Reigns and Punk.
Fans popped big for CM Punk’s “This Fire Burns” video package at WrestleMania
As the fans saw, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas came unglued for CM Punk’s entrance at WrestleMania. The Straight Edge Superstar’s battle hymn, Cult of Personality, was live performed by its creator, Living Colour. The 6-time WWE Champion was all animated while making his way out, flanked by Paul Heyman.

But before that, WWE ran a hype video package for Punk, which revived his classic theme song, This Fire Burns. It was being serenaded across the stadium. As one can see below, the attendees couldn’t resist their urge to sing along. Who knows if that might act as an impetus for WWE to actually bring it back? Ever since his return to WWE in November 2023, The Voice of the Voiceless has remained a babyface.

It’d be interesting to see if he ever goes back to his evil roots. Punk’s relationship with former rival and incumbent WWE CCO Triple H has only improved. They hold each other in high regard. The Game recently disclosed that even though they’re more amicable than ever, it doesn’t mean that they agree on everything. In fact, after learning that Punk was unhappy about a couple of creative pitches made to him by the writers, The Cerebral Assassin talked it out with the ex-AEW star personally.
CM Punk’s WrestleMania weekend meet-and-greet was allegedly a disaster
In his first promo back with WWE, CM Punk concluded it by saying that he’s not here to make friends but money. But it has to be said that The Best in the World has only expanded his circle of camaraderie in the meantime.

A ton of his coworkers, including those at NXT, have repeatedly vouched for Punk. Not only that, but the Chicago star has also been more receptive towards fan interactions. However, a recent story from Ringside News claimed that Punk’s meet-and-greet event at WWE World during WrestleMania 41 weekend was a mess.
It was alleged that his booth had several fan restrictions, causing an uproar among those who paid for the MAG. A user on X lashed out at the publication for defaming The Second City Saint. The fan detailed his personal experience of meeting the WWE Superstar at Elimination Chamber in Toronto.
