CM Punk stole the spotlight with his return to WWE after nine years at Survivor Series: WarGames last year. Since then, he has only wrestled in two matches and has spent most of the time out of action due to an injury. Now, The Best in the World is set to star in a dark comedy film that will be released later this year.
The dark comedy film is called Let’s Start a Cult, which will premiere on October 25 with Phil Brooks, aka CM Punk, as a cast member. The film is about the family of an outcast who tries to commit a long-awaited ritual suicide. However, after failing on the first attempt, they travel through middle America to fulfill their destiny. The true question is whether they will find a new purpose for living or not.
Punk recently signed with Paradigm Talent Agency, as their Instagram handle announced his signing. The deal represents him in all areas, especially in his acting career and ventures beyond wrestling. Other stars, like Tiffany Stratton and Damian Priest, have also signed deals with the same agency. The Second City Saint has starred in series like Mayans M.C. and Heels on television.
Talking about his WWE run, the 45-year-old veteran lost to his arch-enemy Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam. However, the rivalry between them is far from over, as Punk challenged him again on the latest episode of Raw. Both stars will face each other once again in a Strap Match at the Bash in Berlin PLE in Germany.
CM Punk believes emotion is the most important aspect of pro wrestling
CM Punk is widely recognized as a legend in the wrestling business due to his vast experience. He often shares his valuable knowledge with young and upcoming stars, which might help them in the future. Recently, The Best in the World shared some words of wisdom about the most important aspect of pro wrestling.
While speaking on The Masked Man Show, Punk stated that emotions play an important role in the wrestling business. He emphasized its significance by saying that simply having a great match isn’t enough for a wrestler to get over with fans. The veteran further added that if the WWE Universe doesn’t feel anything a wrestler does, then it isn’t even worth it.
Wrestling is about emotion. It’s not about the moves, it’s not about how long your match is, it’s not about your fancy coat you wear to the ring. All those things can add to it. But if you can’t get the people and the audience to move, you can’t get them to feel anything, none of it means anything.CM Punk via The Masked Man Show
Punk asserted that the only superstars who have succeeded in pro wrestling are the ones who truly connect with fans. Fans sing the theme songs of popular babyfaces like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton because of their connection with them. Meanwhile, heels like Dominik Mysterio and Gunther are also successful in evoking strong emotions from fans.
