WWE superstars such as John Cena, The Rock, and Dave Bautista have fluently transitioned into being full-time actors. Other superstars, such as The Miz or Drew McIntyre, have already appeared in many TV shows and movies despite still being full-time wrestlers. CM Punk himself is no stranger to appearing on the big screen.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Punk has joined the cast of an upcoming indie horror film, Night Patrol. The Voice of the Voiceless is also said to have a key role in the film, rather than a brief appearance or a simple cameo. The film is directed by Ryan Prows and features other stars like Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, and RJ Cyler.
The principal photography of the movie has already been done in Los Angeles, and the team is currently aiming for a release in 2025. After CM Punk left WWE in 2014, he tried his hand at some Hollywood films like ‘Girl on the Third Floor’, which was another horror movie. He has also played the character of Ricky Rabies in the TV show Heels.
Punk had already hinted his interest in appearing in more TV shows and movies earlier this year. The former WWE Champion signed with talent management company Paradigm. The agency represents the 45-year-old not just in professional wrestling but in all aspects of his career, including acting.
CM Punk will reportedly challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series
WWE’s last Big 4 PLE of the year, Survivor Series, is scheduled to emanate from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on November 30th. The promotion is planning to pull out all stops for their last show of the year, putting on huge matches such as Gunther vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
According to WrestlePurists, the match has been in consideration for a long time. However, the promotion now seems to have locked in this matchup for November 30th. The Straight Edge Superstar had expressed his desire to go after the World Heavyweight Championship following Bash in Berlin. However, an ambush by Drew McIntyre kept him busy. Now that the feud is finally over, he can focus on capturing gold once again.
The Second City Saint announced on Raw that he was battered up from his match at Hell in a Cell. Thus, he would be taking a break from WWE programming. This break is only scheduled to last until Crown Jewel. This was due to the 45-year-old’s disagreements with WWE over the Saudi Arabian deal. He is likely to return on the Raw after the show.
