CM Punk wasn’t present on Raw this week, but he was keeping an eye on the action. While he’s currently locked in a heated rivalry with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, The Best in the World hasn’t shied away from stirring the pot elsewhere. After JD McDonagh’s match, the former AEW star took a hilarious jab at the former World Tag Team Champion, adding another name to his growing list of WWE targets.
The Judgment Day member is often mocked across WWE for the size of his head—a running joke popularized by Michael Cole. Embracing the humor, The Second City Saint took a playful jab by posting a panel from Marvel Comics featuring MODOK—a character known for his oversized head and small body. Punk joked that the character looked just like JD, further fueling the light-hearted banter.

This week on Raw, JD McDonagh teamed up with Finn Balor to face The War Raiders in a bid to earn a future shot at the World Tag Team Titles. Despite a valiant effort, the duo came up short. In the aftermath of such a hard-fought loss, Punk’s stinging insult adds salt to the wound—something that could easily rattle anyone’s mindset. It’ll be interesting to see if JD decides to fire back and seek payback against Punk.
Moreover, things are starting to spiral out of control for CM Punk. Taking on Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman was already a monumental challenge—but now, with the addition of Bron Breakker to their ranks, the odds have stacked even higher against him. With chaos unfolding on Monday Night Raw, it remains to be seen when The Best in the World will make his return to WWE TV.
Seth Rollins claims CM Punk wanted WWE to fail
Seth Rollins harbors a deep hatred for CM Punk and has made it clear that he holds no respect for The Best in the World. Throughout the year, Rollins has been laser-focused on one goal—destroying Punk and sending him packing for good. In a recent interview, The Visionary opened up about his long-standing animosity with The Straight Edge Superstar, shedding more light on their intense rivalry.

Speaking with Daniel Cormier on ESPN, The Architect made his stance clear—he sees WWE as his family and refuses to tolerate anyone who disrespects it. Rollins recalled how, after CM Punk left the company, he attempted to tear it down by tarnishing its name and reputation. According to Rollins, Punk even wanted others to abandon WWE in hopes that it would collapse.
He would have loved it if this company failed and all of us were out of a job. He asked specific friends to leave the company because of the way it treated him, the way he felt about that, and I mean that’s to me, that’s like sacrilege man.

For that reason, Rollins firmly stated that he can’t accept someone back into his life who once tried to tear down the very family he cherishes. To ensure history doesn’t repeat itself, The Visionary is determined to cut the Chicago-born Punk out of WWE entirely, making sure he never returns. According to Rollins, that’s exactly what he meant when he said he was doing what’s “best for business.”
CM Punk will have to break a promise to fight Seth Rollins and his faction
CM Punk and Seth Rollins are bitter arch-rivals, and while The Best in the World has defeated The Visionary in the past, this new version of Rollins is more dangerous than ever. To survive this escalating war, Punk will have no choice but to fight back with everything he has.

In doing so, he may even have to break a promise he once made to Roman Reigns—something that could have major implications. Back at Survivor Series, CM Punk and Roman Reigns made a mutual promise—they would never team up again in WWE. They were clear that WarGames would be both the first and last time they’d join forces.
However, with the current landscape shifting and both men seemingly aligned against a common threat in Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, that promise may soon be put to the test.
