WWE fans witnessed an intense tag team match as Punk and Cody Rhodes took on Solo Sikoa and Gunther. Although the World Heavyweight Champion and the former Bloodline leader showed a tough fight, the babyfaces won in the end to send the fans home happy. This was the second time this weekend that the WWE Universe saw Punk and The Ring General going against each other.

Many fans were upset because they wanted a one-on-one match between the two top stars at WrestleMania. The 46-year-old veteran is in a heated rivalry with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. All three stars brawled on the latest episode of SmackDown and will face off in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 41.

During his entrance, The Second City Saint sat on the ring apron, waiting for Rhodes to arrive. After leading his iconic “Woah” chant, The American Nightmare noticed Punk sitting nearby, visibly emotional. They shared a heartfelt moment and hugged before starting the match.

Both top stars share an interesting relationship. They were rivals heading into last year’s Royal Rumble match, where Rhodes and Punk exchanged personal shots, which Rhodes ultimately won. This year, both could headline WrestleMania 41 in their respective matches.

The Best in the World and Cody Rhodes teamed up to face Gunther and Solo Sikoa. After defeating the heels, both stars took time to address and thank the fans. During his speech, Punk praised the WWE Champion and took a subtle shot at his WrestleMania opponent, John Cena.

He also expressed his happiness about how far his old friend had come and praised him for doing an excellent job as the Undisputed Champion.

Punk confidently stated that there was no chance Rhodes would lose his title to Cena at WrestleMania 41. The two shared a wholesome moment, and at the end of the show, The American Nightmare lifted Punk on his shoulders and once again thanked the fans.
