Incredible scenes at Wimbledon unfolded as World No. 2 Coco Gauff was knocked out by Emma Navarro on Sunday in an all-American clash, stunning the crowd. The final match of the day lived up to expectations, delivering a showstopper as another top seed exited the tournament.
Emma Navarro put on a stellar show on Court 1 to beat her countrywoman in 1 hour and 14 minutes. The 19th seed has been fabulous this year, and channeled the same momentum against Gauff, beating her in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
Gauff had a great start to Wimbledon, cruising past her opponents without breaking a sweat. However, she was flustered by the defensive forehand show that Navarro had put up.
The 19th seed had found a way through Gauff’s defensive and pushed her forehand throughout the match to leave her clueless. Gauff looked at her box multiple times, hoping to find some answers from her coach, but nothing worked and her compatriot outplayed her.
Tennis fans on the internet were also disappointed at Gauff’s loss and lashed out at the US Open winner for not playing her best in an important game. “It’s no surprise when u take everything for granted,” an X user commented. Many more comments soon followed as the fans saw a major problem in Gauff’s tennis for the first time.

Fans disappointed at Coco Gauff’s game, lash out at the American No.1
It is a huge win for Navarro, who made it to her first-ever Wimbledon quarterfinal. Navarro is in her career-best season and adds a first Grand Slam quarterfinal. Last year she only had 15 wins to her name, but is already past 30 wins this year.
On the other hand, the tennis fans were clearly upset by Coco Gauff’s tennis in her latest fourth-round game against Navarro at Wimbledon. All year, Gauff has had consistent runs but was off her game in the important match, resulting in a loss. Here are more comments from the fans:
It's no surprise wen u take everything for granted,,@CocoGauff underestimate navaro and what baffles me the most was wat she kept on saying during d game, like she was blaming someone for her shambolic display..rubbish

Gauff forehand really let her down.

CoCo showed a lack of confidence and maturity today. The top ranked player doesn’t look to their coach, they win on the court. Navarro played well and kept her composure.

Hahaha COCO so overated ..all she does is run all over the court..no strategy and not many weapons either

Not surprised at all. Once again easy draw gets Coco there, then loss to first tough opponent. Commentator saying she’ll win the whole thing. Forehand breaks down.

It is safe to say Coco can't be trusted

Coco may need to seriously get a new coach. The unforced errors are a result of what’s being done at practice to prepare.

Oh wow coco finally faced a player on top50 and was hopeless hahhaha I can't stop laughing ?

How they gonna come up with even easier draw than this for Coco at USO I don't know ?

With Gauff’s defeat, Wimbledon lost another top seed, leaving Elena Rybakina as the only Top-5 player in the draw. She is the only one among the many to have won a Grand Slam and is at a good chance to repeat it.
