Coco Gauff opened up about her struggles with wearing heels. Gauff has often made fashion statements thanks to her collaborations with her sponsors, New Balance and Miu Miu.

But when it comes to footwear, Gauff prefers platform heels over high heels. The 21-year-old has won the Style Influencer of the Year Award from FN. And during her interview with the magazine, Gauff said that to feel more comfortable in high heels, she would try to emulate Hollywood star Zendaya.

I don’t mind a heel so much. I just prefer it to be a platform. But I’ve learned that can’t always be the case. I do love the look of it, it’s just the process is insane. After 10 minutes, I’m done. I’m still trying to figure out my endurance. I might need to be like Zendaya — I heard Law Roach had her walking around the house in heels [when she was younger]. Maybe I’m more of a kitten heel kind of girl.

Coco Gauff said

On the tour this year, Gauff dealt with lots of ups and downs. In quite a few tournaments, she suffered early-round exits.

But she finished the season with two titles, having won four finals. On the European clay swing, the two-time Grand Slam singles champion played the finals of the Madrid Open, Italian Open, and the French Open. While she failed to beat Aryna Sabalenka and Jasmine Paolini in Madrid and Rome, respectively, she was successful in defeating the four-time Grand Slam singles champion in Paris.

Naomi Osaka is currently enjoying her off-season. She and fellow WTA ace Taylor Townsend flew off to the Caribbean islands. Osaka, just like Coco Gauff, has often made headlines due to her outfits. During that aforementioned interview, when Gauff was asked which tennis player on the circuit has great style, her answer was Osaka.

I really like Naomi Osaka’s outfits. She does a great job of being creative and doing things that haven’t been done. We’re always looking at each other. Her style is more camp, which is cool. Maybe someday I’ll try and do something campy.

Singer and businesswoman Rihanna is Gauff’s style icon because the Diamonds singer “can rock both masculine and super-feminine ’fits“. But when it comes to fashion advice, she listens to her boyfriend Jalen Sera.

The only person I take seriously is my boyfriend. He gives good advice. I am going to a music festival, and I was trying on outfits on the phone with him.

Osaka finished her season after reaching two finals. She made it to the summit clash of the ASB Classic- her first final since the 2022 Miami Open. But the 28-year-old failed to win the title as an injury forced her to give the walkover to Clara Tauson.

Osaka later made it to the final of the Canadian Open, where home favorite Victoria Mboko came from a set down to deny her the win. The last time Osaka won a title was at the 2021 Australian Open by defeating Jennifer Brady.

Osaka was last seen in action at the Japan Open. The home favorite reached the quarterfinals but ended up giving the walkover to Jaqueline Cristian. Gauff, on the other hand, qualified for the WTA Finals.

She played as the defending champion but failed to progress to the semifinals after defeats to Jessica Pegula and eventual runner-up Aryna Sabalenka in the round-robin stages. Gauff also committed more than 400 double faults for the second consecutive season.
