Coco Gauff laments sexist comments, said Roger Federer can beat me because he is skilled not because he is a man

Coco Gauff is creating ripples in tennis with her sheer talent. The 16-year-old American has already beaten some top players in a short span of her professional career. Despite proving her class time and again, some people are still not impressed by her. They feel that Coco is a mediocre player, just because she is a girl.

Coco Gauff accepts that there are players with a better skill-set than hers. However, she cannot tolerate such sexist remarks. Coco says that she refuses to accept that she is an average player just because she is a girl.

The tweet clearly shows a person downgrading professional female tennis players by saying they can’t even beat state-level male tennis players. This has not gone down too well for Coco Gauff, who lashed on people with such mindset.

“I am okay with people calling me an average player just because they are better at playing tennis. However, I do not like when they say you are a bad player because you are a girl. Of course, Roger Federer is a much better player than me not because he is a male but better in tennis than me. Please criticize me but not by being sexist,” an irritated Coco Gauff said.
