Coco Gauff had a Paris Olympics campaign to remember. Not only did she create history by becoming the youngest flag-bearer for America, but she also ticked a few more boxes off her bucket list. The youngster always wanted to get a couple of selfies with Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, which she managed.

In terms of professional goals, Gauff hoped to achieve a podium in four years at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. This year, she competed in all the draws at the Olympics which included both singles and doubles.

However, she had early exits in all three. In singles, the American was not up to the mark and suffered a defeat at the hands of Donna Vekic. Her Olympics run ended there but she also took back some experience from it.

While Gauff did not win any medals, she enjoyed the experience of the Games and the Olympic Village in general. She met with many famous sporting figures from her country and the world. From tennis, she got two selfies that she had always wanted.

I finally got a picture with Rafa [Nadal] and traded pins with him. Carlos [Alcaraz] didn’t have any pins so I didn’t let him get in the selfie! I finally got a picture with Andy [Muray] which I always wanted to ask.

She got two important selfies with tennis stars Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. Gauff was lucky to get a picture with the Brit before he played in the last tournament of his career. It was not all sad for the American, who got what she always wanted.

Nadal and Murray were not the only famous interactions she had that week. She also met Simone Biles, the world-famous gymnast, Suni Lee, Noah Lyles, and more. She revealed that she took a lot of gems from Lyles and had a natural conversation with him.

It was something I wouldn’t have expected and meeting all the incredible people that I met, I don’t take it lightly. Every Olympics I qualify in, I’ll for sure play unless I’m injured.
