Coco Gauff has spoken about the impact of supplements on her tennis career. The American claims that she hasn’t used any yet but has no issue with other players using them for their benefit.
Gauff has declined to comment on whether she will take them in the future. She remains one of the most talked-about WTA superstars, given her rapid rise in the tennis world at such a young age.
Personally, I don’t take supplements or vitamins. I’m not saying I’ll never take them in the future, but because I was on the tour at 15 and a lot of people wanted me to take supplements, not health professionals, just coaches and things like that. And my parents said, ‘No, the doctor doesn’t recommend it for her. And she’s 15. Let her grow, let her mature, let her do things naturally.’ Obviously, some people do it because they have a deficiency or things like that. Luckily for me, I haven’t had that result yet. So that’s personally the reason why I decided not to do it, because I feel like it’s not going to do anything more for me.
Coco Gauff said in an interview with The National News
The topic of supplements has been widely debated on the ATP and WTA tours. Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek are among the highest-profile players who have admitted to taking them. However, Swiatek faced scrutiny after receiving a one-month doping ban last year. The Pole was later handed an indefinite suspension after testing positive for trimetazidine.
Coco Gauff endures a disastrous evening against Magda Linette
Former US Open champion Coco Gauff faced a surprising loss at the Miami Open, while Emma Raducanu moved into her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal. Raducanu continued her strong form, but Gauff struggled in her match.

Gauff, the third seed, lost to unseeded Magda Linette in straight sets, 4-6, 4-6. She made 12 double faults and 45 unforced errors. Despite winning her previous two matches against Linette, she could not find her rhythm this time.
The match turned in Linette’s favor early in the first set when she broke Gauff’s serve. Gauff fought back and took a 2-0 lead in the second set, but she could not hold on. Linette broke her three more times to secure the win.
With this victory, Linette reached her first Miami Open quarterfinal. She will now play Jasmine Paolini, who defeated Naomi Osaka in the previous round.
Coco Gauff lets the United States down
World No.3 Coco Gauff lost to unseeded Magda Linette in the Miami Open, falling 6-4, 6-4. It was a disappointing day for American players, as Danielle Collins, Amanda Anisimova, and Ashlyn Krueger also lost in straight sets.

Anisimova was defeated by Emma Raducanu 6-1, 6-3. Krueger also struggled, losing 6-2, 7-6 to Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng.
Jessica Pegula was the only American woman to win. She came back strong, winning the last six games to defeat Marta Kostyuk 6-2, 6-3. Pegula, the fourth seed, will face Raducanu in the next round. Collins had another tough match against Aryna Sabalenka. She has never beaten Sabalenka in seven meetings and has won only three sets against her.
