American singer/actress, Coco Jones and Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell have been together for nearly two years. The power couple kept their relationship private in the beginning, but have made quite a few public appearances, most recently at the US Open in New York City this year.

The two got engaged in July during the offseason and were the talk of the town. Both of them have shown immense support for each other through appearances and social media posts.

Both are well-respected and have achieved plenty of success in their respective fields. Jones has been nominated several times and has even won a Grammy Award for ‘Best R&B song” for ICU in 2024. Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell is a six-time NBA All-Star and is considered one of the best scorers in the modern-day NBA.

The former 13th pick in the 2017 NBA draft has made one of the best starts to a season in his career as the Cavs star is currently averaging 30.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. Mitchell has never averaged over 30 points in his career before. Despite his impressive numbers, the Cavs have had their share of struggles as they sit at seventh in the Eastern Conference standings with a 14-11 record. A disappointing record because the Cavs finished first in the East last season.

Recently, Jones did an interview with Athlete Vanity and was asked about the most unhinged DM she’s ever received. To which the singer replied:

It’s probably people wanting to harm my fiancé. That’s pretty crazy. Yeah, I guess they are sad I am off the market. Sorry (with a smile).

Social media is a commonplace for fans to express their emotions, sometimes in a positive manner and sometimes in the form of threats, especially when it is about a celebrity they adore.

Cleveland Cavaliers have an easy schedule ahead

Since the departure of LeBron James in 2019, the city of Cleveland have not had much to celebrate, especially with respect to playoff success. After topping the Eastern Conference with 64 wins, there were a lot of hopes and expectations from Mitchell and his men in the postseason. But injuries eventually took a toll on the squad, and the Cavs were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in five games in the second round.

This season has been the opposite of the previous campaign so far. They are in the play-in spots at the moment. While it is not the position they would want to be in at the end of the regular season, Cavs Nation will be hoping that their postseason success will be the opposite of last season as well.

The schedule is expected to be easier from here for the Cavs, so they will be expected to stack up some wins from now on. The next four games are not the only easy stops the Cavaliers have.

In fact, after facing some of the toughest opponents in the league in their first 25 games, Cleveland is facing one of the easiest remaining schedules for the final 57 matchups. For a team with only 11 postseason wins in the last four years, the Cavs have a lot of work to do in a very open Eastern Conference.

The players are not happy with their performances

Head coach Kenny Atkinson arranged for a long film session and called out the players for not playing up to the mark. Following the film session, the team had a player-only meeting and had various discussions on what needs to be done for the remainder of the season. De’Andre Hunter spoke about the meeting without going into the specifics of it.

It was great. It just shows that we’re all brought in. We are not happy with where we are at. We are trying to be better and we have a common goal so to have a team-led meeting, have the guys speak out, speak their minds, I think it helps not only the players but the coaches as well.

With long-term injuries to star players in the Pacers and the Boston Celtics, and with Giannis Antetokounmpo very close to leaving the Milwaukee Bucks, the Eastern Conference is for the taking. This season presents the best opportunity for Donovan Mitchell and the rest of the Cavs members to step up and make a difference in the postseason.
